The Sixth World is really only the fourth planet from the Sun in it's solar system. The Sun is just simply called the sun, although many religions label it a god. The planet is called Sorrel, and it is common knowledge it is not the center of the universe. The other planets have names as well, but differ from religions and scholors alike. No one, not even the Dragon-Lords have been off Sorrel.

The world is looked over by the Dragon-Lords, Gigantic and Powerful rulers that were the only creatures to survive the six endings of the worlds. Worlds are a term applied to the ages of evolutions Sorrel has seen, each ending in an apocoliptic influx of soul devouring creatures from another plane called demons. There are 25 Dragon-Lords remaining in the world each rule thier own land, and 5 lands remain vacant, their Dragon-Lords deceased. No new Dragon-Lords have risen or been born, the reasons for that remain the Dragon-Lords greatest mystery.

The Dragon-Lords themselves almost died in the end of the First World, untill they set aside their individual differences and banded together in ritual to turn the demons magic back on themselves, but it took the deaths of 4 Dragon-Lords to unite them. The only other Dragon-Lord that died was Chevan, the Geyser Dragon-Lord, who died battling Phorse, the Magma Dragon-Lord in his volanic home.

The history of the Worlds is known from the ruins that have survived the apocolypses and been found and translated. The exploration of ruins in dangerous, but the knowledge and technology that can be discovered makes rich people out of those daring enough to enter the ruins.

The First World was the World of Air. A race of birds who referred to themselves as the people used thier magic to float cities in the skies above. They had great scholars among them and their floating castles offered them some time before thier fall, but their obsevations of the apocplypse remains the most accurate telling of the horrors to date.

The Second World was the World of Food. Huge turtles as tall as hills roamed the land useing an alchemical secretion to change the way thier food affected them. They grew smarter and more talented in their art, but when the second apocolypse came, they had no concept of an defense other than thier own shells, and fell to the demons rapidly.

The Third World was the World of Plants. Some of the last experiments the long lived Alcemist Turtles did was giving mobility and a spark of intelligence to thier plants. Those plants grew and became smarter and roamed the land on their own, banding together to form communities using their variety of seeds to the benifit of all. They too had no concept of defense when the apocolypse struck, but where thier souls fled, thier bodies remained and still grow to this day, the only form of survivors other than the Dragon-Lords to this day.

The Fourth World was the World of Pairs. A variety of reptiles grew creatures to live off of themselves while giving them abilities and power beyond their own limits. They were the first world to discover the ruins of the previous Worlds, but could not discover thier meaning before the apocolypse struck them down as well.

The Fifth World was the World of Machines. Bands of four legged creatures developed machines to adapt to their bodies in much the same way the creatures of the Fourth World used their symbiotes. This was the first technology from another age to be used by the present, but they could not find the ruins of the World of Air, and died in the apocolypse as all the Worlds before.

The Sixth World was the World of Man. Humanoids of many shapes and sizes swarmed over the many ruins and were the only World to find the World of Air and it's records, all on a balloon flight to scout the land from the air. From thier records they learned of the apocolypse and referring to other records they discovered the Dragon-Lords had been in every World and survived it's end. With this knowledge, they humanoids approached the Dragon-Lords and traded for the knowledge of how to protect themsleves. These trades came at varying prices, some Dragon-Lords merely wanting thanks, most Dragon-Lords wanted loyalty, and a few evil Dragon-Lords demanded slavery. None of the trades were refused, as the only option was death in the apocolpyse.

The apocolypse came and the creatures of the Sixth World hid in their shelters of magic and became the only World to live. Now, although it is technically a new, Seventh world, the people have come out of their forts and castles to look on their new world. The demons moved mountains and oceans, but the people were spared, and with a new world open to them, they've struck new trails in the wilderness to find the ruins of the old Worlds to prepare for the next apocolypse.

That sounds a little bit like my Lizardman creation myth, which is, in turn, devised from the Aztec/Maya creation myth.

I'm borrowing heavily from Earthdawn and a touch from ShadowRun, both FASA games and both influenced by the Mayan Calender! Everyone do a happy dance! *gyrates*
