No Stats? NO STATS
#1Maybe there is a bug in the javascript, or maybe it is that I use netscape 5.???
but I do have javascripting enabled and in other places javascripts work fine with this browser....
However when I hover my mouse over the text , the text disappears, the post grows longer to allow for the "stat-space" but no stats appear.
For a brief moment I do get to see a sort of hyperlink like item saying "user stats" but then underlined.
The statistics themselves however are gone and I have found no way to see them.
Clicking the piece of text does not help either....
Yours,
the statless Ylorea
p.s. Can I not live without stats? ehhr well I think I can. After all they are not that important. I just figured I should mention it, as obviously Strolen put a bit of work into it and my assumption was that he would probably like to know that this item seems broken. -

#2Probably netscape. Will do some experiments. I HATE HATE HATE catering to IE, I don't use it but thankfully my new Opera 7 handles the javascript just fine. My old Opera browser wouldn't even do as much as yours does.
I will see if I can figure it out, but if Opera does it, then Netscape should as well...oh, I use Mozilla. Will have to download netscape.
Will try it momentarily. -

#3OK. I do have netscape.
Netscape 7.01
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win 9x 4.90; en-US; rv:1.0.2) Gecko/20021120 Netscape/7.01
It is VERY touchy though. Have to be quick like a rabbit otherwise it extends and collapses before I can see it. Try going on it really quick and see if it stays open for you. Otherwise might be some javascript issues with your netscape. Same with mozilla. If you whip your mouse across it then it goes up and down as it should.
Give it a couple tries and let me know. Since it works in all my browsers I am not sure if I can do anything about it.
Fresh install of Netscape? -

#4It works fine in IE. Just thought you'd like to know. -

#5I've got Netscape and it works fine for me. -

#6The extra response that I have after I have been playing around on the site yesterday is something you probably will not believe either......
This morning I have no stats again....., but yesterday after I posted a message, everything worked like a charm.
Hover a mouse over the text and there you are stats and stats to stay.
But this morning.... Just a larger area.... the "link" gone and ehhhhr well oke, the first try for the first person showed the stats, but so quickly that I did not see it, as I was just blinking my eyes.

#7Correction... After posting it still works sort of strange.... I have to hover my mouse over the link, at least until the area stretched up, then some other link will flash up and then I can remove my mouse.
Only after I remove the mouse, do the stats show and remain.
Now do not go and fix this, just because I have the problem.... I will just make plenty of posts, so I can check the stats of other people ;+)))

#8Re-correction on the correction.....
After my second post everything is messed up again and I will now formerly give up hope to ever see the stats again, unless by going to a persons profile. (The stat information is still there I hope?)

#9I don't get it either. The code is static so from one post to another it shouldn't change. I hate suggesting it because it is annoying but a uninstall install might fix it, especially since we have had a couple independent tries that work.
Netscape is *really* touchy though and wierd even on mine.
Oh well. Thanks for baring with me. -

#10I don't realy feel like reinstalling netscape, as it is going to be a huge amount of work for me.
Part of the problem is that I am behind a firewall and the second problem is that IE refuses to download anything, as I have rigged the settings as such that.... ohhh welll, whatever....
I can live without the stats. Much simpler as submerging myself into reinstalling netscape.
Besides the obvious IE targeted sites, I prefer netscape though, as it is much faster then IE and it seems to be much more protective of cookies, paswords, typed fields and the like.
Yours,
Ylorea
