collaborators not properly credited
#1Okay, through chat with the other Moon, I had decided to report this as a bug (but might or might not be feature creep in Strolen's terminology):
Back in the Kaiju quest (the one that was Scras challenge, remember?), me and MysticMoon had collab. wrote Chimera prototype {some roman numerical that I can't remember} with him as first author and me as collab. After the quest winner was announced, I was not credited as winner, nor even as participant. If you check my author profile, Kaiju quest was listed in my incomplete quests list. At first I thought that's in the coding logic cos sometimes collaborators are just who first author gave credit to as having contributed valuable ideas but not involved in actual sub writing and since it was once-off collab and I have my own idea for the Kaiju quest as well, I didn't report it as bug then. But then the other Moon mentioned that random things seem to happen to collab subs (I myself have caught 2 bug concerning collabs as I remembered) so I figured I would mention this.
Also, besides collab. authors not properly credited, there's also the fact that collab. subs don't show up in 2nd author's Personal Workplace page. The other Moon had just created the following in-work sub for us for the Art quest: http://strolen.com/viewing/The_Demon_Who_Had_His_Soul_Stolen_In_a_Church
I couldn't find it under the Collaborative Draft-Public box like one would expect. Having said it, not sure whether that's a bug as I vaguely remembered I read somewhere that Strolen had actually announced that that's the way to be for 2nd authors? -
Re: collaborators not properly credited
#2Not really looking for anything to be done retro but more suggestion for future fixes even though future occurrence might not be that high (so far only incidences known are basically from the Moon collaborations).
The thing with 2nd author cannot find the collab sub through Author Profile I do find annoying. -
Re: collaborators not properly credited
#3This is operator error. I do a database hunt, search, peck, update to this. So I didn't think to look for the collaborator's block as I tend to jump in and jump out of the database. So my bad and will fix that next time I am brave enough to sneak in there!
