Re: Citadel Quiz #1
#41Ok, I'm going to take a stab at her, I mean at it  I seem to recall a Lori or Lauren Wellington, Welling, Washington? :Thud: -
Re: Citadel Quiz #1
#42Seems like the Citadel roleplaying community has willfully purged her from their memory.
Just as well. The woman, Lorraine Williams, claimed she was socially superior to gamers, which she considered little but neckbeard cows to be milked of their cash by the means of whatever crappy product necessary. In many ways she was the harbinger of the end of the tabletop era.
Good attempt, Aramax, but a little too far from the mark.

She also produced crappy Buck Rogers content, which TSR paid a hefty licensing fee for to.... her! Her family owns the rights to buck rogers. So she is not only a disgusting cow who looks down on gamers, she was happy to f u c k TSR to make a bit more money for herself. -

We have 3 winners... It cannot be! To determine the winner over all winners, I am going to ask questions that all 3 winners must answer within 24 hours of the posting.
The honor system is in place, with no Googling and the like.
If one of our winners get it right, he gets a point.
The questions will continue until there is just one left.

-
Re: Citadel Quiz #1
#62Ettins -
Re: Citadel Quiz #1
#63Ettins. There are also a Troll-Ettin Hybrid if I remember correctly.
Regarding #19. TSR was gone long before the birth of pathfinder - WOTC owned the license.
Pazio did not buy 3.5 to build pathfinder - they created pathfinder from the OGL, which was one of the reasons WOTC created 4th edition and why it was so dramatically different from all other editions...
At least, that is my understanding :)
-
Re: Citadel Quiz #1
#64Ettens -
Re: Citadel Quiz #1
#65Ettins.
This is an ancient cliche that I'm sure lots of people have experienced but one of my favorite mini-encounters ever was when my PCs heard "two" giants talking a bit down the tunnel from them and began plotting a 2-Giants attack strategy. When they saw it was just the 1 Ettin, the look of genuine surprise on their faces made my day :) -

Re: Citadel Quiz #1
#70I got nuthin' -
Re: Citadel Quiz #1
#71It was called Glamdring (Foe Hammer) and was created by the elves of Gondolin who enchanted all their weapons to glow with a cold light when Goblins and Orcs were near.
Orcrist was the sword claimed by Thorin Oakenshield. Its name means Goblin Cleaver, and like Sting and Glamdring it was also forged in Gondolin.
