   Considering the size and extent of Winter Storm Octavia, I am opening this thread for Storm News

   Everyone keep the Soviet Soldier of the North in your thoughts. Pipes are frozen, power lines are down, cable is down, but he is safe and will be offline for a while. He has plenty of booze to keep him warm until the situation improves

   I wish him well.  The Cold Hell has been pounding here pretty bad, though I shall not speak of power.

   -40F here in Vermont yesterday eve and around -17F tonight, I feel a great swell of pity for those whose heat isn't included in their rent.  :(

   I would also like to comment on the irony of giving the 15th storm of the season a name that means, "Eighth?"
