Automated welcome pm's for new members?

1. Automated welcome pm's for new members?

   #1

Just a random late night idea I had, but when registering on some forums new members often get an automated "welcome to the site!" type of PM, telling them the finer points site they just joined and some helpful advice on finding their way around the place.

To that end I was thinking perhaps the Citadel might benefit from doing something similar, perhaps with a a couple links to useful subs that will help a new member find their way around the site and settle in a bit easier?

   Such as:

   Just a random thought, comments/thoughts?

I'm not necessarily against it. It may clear up some 'newbie clutter' on the main page, as well. It can also suggest introducing themselves in the forums with a link to the 'greetings traveler' section and get them posting in the community.
