Commenting Challenge Addendum
#1This is an additional challenge that is in the spirit of the original commenting challenge but totally different. Also, takers participate on a weekly basis and a fresh round commences every week. The weekly quota for participants is 5.
Personally, I have a bit of a fetish with wanting at least 3 comments/votes on each of my subs (3 just happens to be my fav no.). So the challenge is the following:
Comment on 5 or more subs that have less than 3 votes. Only voted is NOT an acceptable comment. Stubs also acceptable but it has to be one that you've read and found promising of expanding into an actual sub one day.
In return, the prize will be 1 comment on a sub of your choice (anything across the board and including the option to reserve a unique Moonlake vote for a future sub *available with this offer only) to be completed before every Strolenati Sunday or thereabouts (it depends on when you post your choice and the length of said sub, it might wind up in next week's slot due to timezone differences or time taken to read for a long sub, I'm in Australia).
Additionally, if 20 or more subs(stubs) that have less than 5 votes(comments) are found and reported here in this thread, 1 comment is also offered that is separate from the weekly quota. -
Re: Commenting Challenge Addendum
#2I like this idea -
Re: Commenting Challenge Addendum
#3Actually the format of a weekly round was partly inspired by the multiple round you suggested for the upcoming quest yesterday. I've pledged myself to the Strolenati Sunday so these and other things roped into one gave birth to this addendum challenge. -
Re: Commenting Challenge Addendum
#4Obtaining a list of undercommented subs is easy -
http://strolen.com/browsing/locations/none/none/20
for example. Select a category, go to the sort options on the right, select comments ascending.
-
Re: Commenting Challenge Addendum
#5True, I use this method too but frequently I get slack and just randomly browse. Anyway, my criteria is based on votes which sometimes isn't quite the same thing as number of comments (although not sure what's the ratio of mismatches). I included part b thinking that it would be good to compile here a list of all subs/worthy stubs that have been undercommented and/or undervoted.
After some more contemplation, decided to change terms to keep part b separate from weekly quota and increased number of subs/stubs that have to be reported. -
Re: Commenting Challenge Addendum
#6Ok, i'm game. Will review 5 subs with less than 3 votes over the next 48 hours! -
Re: Commenting Challenge Addendum
#7woo hoo (my spelling has really deteriorated, I spelled woo hoo as "wow hu" when I first posted this), first taker to the Challenge! -

Ok, i'm game. Will review 5 subs with less than 3 votes over the next 48 hours!
Muro, did you finish this or not? If not, doesn't matter. I will roll you over to the round for this week. -
Re: Commenting Challenge Addendum
#9Roll me over, I think I have 3 to go. -
Re: Commenting Challenge Addendum
#10Okay, got it. -
Re: Commenting Challenge Addendum
#11I'm in too. Might be hard since I've done this a couple of times before :)

Re: Commenting Challenge Addendum
#14Nope. I had forgotten there was even a reward, so choose as thou wilt.

Re: Commenting Challenge Addendum
#18Hmm, how about an oldie, Cloister of the Empty Table ...don't eat while reading :)
I think I'll do 5 more of these btw. That is, comment on 5 more subs that currently feature less than 3 votes. -
Re: Commenting Challenge Addendum
#19Ah, one of the Muromax collaborations. It's a bit lengthy so may wind up on next week's slot, we will see. -

#21Added to reading list. -
Re: Commenting Challenge Addendum
#22Started on the Cloister today but stopped just before the Cloister section. -
Re: Commenting Challenge Addendum
#23too yucky? :P Sorry. -
Re: Commenting Challenge Addendum
#24No, I don't think I got up to the yucky bits yet, I just have length aversion in terms of reading on Strolens. I'm also a little buried under with reading assignments here at Citadel and others self assigned at the moment so I break stuff down in sessions to read. -
Re: Commenting Challenge Addendum
#25I'm such a good gal that I actually did not drag the Cloister sub into next week's slot. -
Re: Commenting Challenge Addendum
#26To bump this thread, I'm going to create lists of undercommented/voted subs (=comments/votes -
