  1. Voting Practices type posts: Thoughts?

    Got this PM

    This sub: http://strolen.com/viewing/Silvers_Voting_Practices
    Is on this page: http://strolen.com/helping
Right next to this sub: http://strolen.com/viewing/Law_of_the_Hammer

Silver's sub clearly a product of a place and a time. There is no way for a new person to vote, comment, or contribute productively to an ancient flamewar, and the text next to the rating numbers gives all the guidance a person needs when voting. Could we remove voting practice subs? They really reflect poorly on the citadel and are nothing like the community I know.

I am always leery about deleting anything and have VERY rarely used this awesome power. I am inclined to leave it. Do you see it as a problem per the discussion?

I am not in favour of deletion. Its part of our history, good or bad.  I do believe that additional subs of this type should be discouraged, and such dicussions better dealt with in the forum.

New sub state - locked.  Public, but no comment/vote, typically with admin note,

val has a great idea there. Also, we should probably remove the voting practices link from the help page.

My vote: Leave'em, lock'em, discourage'em. But censoring history is almost never a good idea.

You're not going to tell us who sent that fascinating pm, and it will now bother me for all eternity, not knowing. Hope you're happy :P

The part that'll REALLY haunt you is that if only you were a coder, you would know where in the Citadel guts that information resides...

    :P

I would never say that PA sent that. Would be a disruption of tidal forces or something.

Admin lock is a good new status that might be needed if val continues to spam reddit.
