There's only one goddamned rule in this thread. If you are not intoxicated you cannot post here. Got that you sober berks, no booze, no writing.

And I see some of you thinking, I'll just have a sup and that'll do. No it bloody won't. If you can drive a car, then you're too sober to write in this thread. Got it?

    Good.

Bourbon, not fancy bourbon, not expensive bourbon, it's the cheap shit. Ancient Age, in a plastic bottle. This is regular grade gasoline boys, not jet fuel, not the stuff I would take to a party.

I find that there are two things that are very effective for kicking my creativity into high gear, large doses of caffeine and cheap ass bourbon. Give me a Monster or a Full Throttle (or a pot of coffee before my gallbladder turned Benedict Arnold on me) and I would give you meaningful characters based off of stupid pornstar names, Star Whales, and all that. Likewise, bourbon sends the hamsters running very nicely on their treadmills.

You guys don't see all of that. There is some erotica that gets written, but that's not for now and that's not for here.

But it's the cheap stuff. I don't like the expensive stuff. Well, I do like the expensive stuff. I had a shot of Middleton something or other and it's $200 a bottle. It was magical, there were elements of oak, honey, cherry, smoke, tobacco, chocolate and so many other wonderful things in it. As I held that shot of expensive liquor in my mouth, savoring the exquisite flavor I felt the blood rush to my face like the first time I got a girl peeled out of her panties.

I'm cheap as hell, but considering my income and the fact that I have horses (plural) rather dictates that as a mandatory thing. I can't drink expensive booze, it bothers me. Because the booze that I casually consume to turn into words has to be cheap. I'm on my second bourbon and coke (a double followed by a single) and that would just be unacceptable if it was some $200/bottle effing Middleton. Instead its $25/jug Ancient Age. It works.

I hit it hard when I got home from work, and I had a light lunch. That's a problem, since the booze hit me fast and hard. Nothing to soak it up. Too quick, or too fast and my ability to write is just pissed. Yes, I'm writing now, but this is just stream of consciousness BS, there is no arc, no meaning, no greater allusions, allegories or other english class stuff.

    Damn I'm tired.

    Keep on keepin on

    Base out

    Greetings and salutations  :beer2:

We're down one bourbon and coke, and hells yeah its Friday night, there's cold beer in the fridge and the wife is in bed.

    Time for writing and shit.

#CultofDone business hit this morning, and I'm pleased with that one. Got 30 Genetic Mods done, and I've been working on an off on that one for a bit. Mixed together some obvious cyberpunk tropes, some real life what would people do with genetic mods, and a decent sized dose of X-Men. Between genetic modification, cybernetic implants, and varying degrees of parapsychic abilities, the Cosmic Era has functionally Build Your Own X-Man

18 Gifts from the Outer Gods was intended to be a 30 but bogged down, but I'm pretty pleased with the 18 I got out of it. Messed up stuff.

Patrol Pods was a basic equipment listing, whatevs.

And the Quortek Baat'leb was a foundation piece, something that can be linked back to to explain how a magical trap is fueled, and generally giving bad guys another tool for level draining, killing minions, and generally being evil. I hate the name, but somehow if I give a submission a silly name, it gets more hits, votes and comments than something with a straightforward name.

    Meh

I want to do something with the 19 creature types in pokemon. The last person I talked to about it said it was stupid idea.

Finished RL-8 Space stations, got it out, cult of done, and now I don't have to think about horrible places shapes like D8s. I'm not at all happy with it, because I feel I sacrificed getting the hellraiser/event horizon feel for Leviathan which should be it's own guns blazing horror and death module and not just a footnote on a generate five room dungeon space station.

It's 4 AM... God, I dont know the last time I saw 4AM...

Cult of Done is Cult of Done, and now it's out so piss on it

Arrow brand black berry brandy, the stuff's $4.19 a bottle, and seems to do the trick pretty effectively, (3-4 shots or so) especially when on the rocks and an ewmpty tummy.

Plan to have my rnadom spouse generator NPC created while in an intoxitcated state, and see if it;s better than my sober subs.

Lookin to be a fun way to pass an otherwise dull evening/late night/early morning.

An findin' one ta many o' those brandy shots an the creativity goes from high ta nil in a hurry, so gonna pic it back up tomorra night, perhaps with a touch o' Southern Comfort instead o' th cheap stuff.  8)

Having a go with 3-6 shots of Southern comfort 100 proof, which seems to work well in kick startin the ol creativity engine, an takes far less than the cheap stuff.  8)

It;s also worth noting that while creativity may be boosted, the ability to quickly calculate numerical values is equally diminished, as I discovered when it took me ten minutes to calculate a simple birth date for the NPC sub in question. (Partially due to the complexities of math under the influence, and other distractions.  )

Random. I have been partial to Bulleit Bourbon, but have sometimes been put off by it's sometimes sharp note, and more often by it's somewhat sharp price tag. It is expensive enough that I sometimes have guilt issues with consuming too much of it in a sitting. Couple that with having to drive to the next county to replace it, and my drinking enthusiasm is decreased.

For a while I was regularly indulging in Ancient Age, a good sturdy bourbon in a plastic jug. Cheap, effective, and largely guilt free. Last run to the liquor store left me looking for another bourbon to take it's place since the store we stopped at didn't carry Ancient Age. I picked up Evan Williams Bourbon, and it's classier, with a glass bottle and not a plastic jug, and a more mellow flavor that suits my method of consumption.

    But onto the real business.

I was recently stumbled over personal revelations over a friend who builds and rebuilds tractors and old generators and linked it to what I do writing wise, running about in a circular fashion but not accomplishing anything.

Another revelation followed, more recently. There are things I write on the citadel because I enjoy doing them, and the reward is simply the final project, or the exercise of doing it. There are segments of time where I am not going to do anything more 'productive', like now. I;ve had enough to drink that there will be no serious work of a Literary/Publishable nature, and it's too dark for bike riding, and I've had enough to drink that I could just as easily spend this amount of time doing something completely non-productive.

I have a tumblr feed that is built entirely around my personal interests in porn/erotica that isn't attached to anything else. Fuck you tumblr, no you cannot connect to my Facebook or Twitter. No, sit, No! Bad social media!

I can piddle, play with my Cosmic Era toys, or with some conceptual idea for a while, and my blood pressure goes down, and I am happy.

    This is reward enough.

The first revelation remains in place, as later in more sober moments I do take serious time to work on productive things.,

but now is not this time, not here. Now is the time for drunken ramblings, smutty tumblr, and round 3 of bourbon.

    Godspeed Mr. Scrasamax, godspeed.

    ...

    Evan Williams is good bourbon.

I am working on a 30 Amazons submission for the Cosmic Era setting, based around the island of New Themyscira.

I have been thinking on this for a while and I keep revising my list of inspirations, dropping off weak, tangential, or blatantly sexist characters from the roster. Ivy Valentine from Soul caliber was the first such victim (all I know about her is BoObS, purple leather, and chain sword, and she was replaced with an intellectual inspiration Dana Scully from the X-Files.

I have several Facebook friends who are quite vocal about the whole Wonder Woman won't get her own movie thing. I think about this at work.

And there is one thing that keeps popping up...

Who the Eff did Wonder Woman fight? Who was her villain, her foil?

There is some quite by Churchhill, and then there is the whole idea that a superhero is as much identified by their enemies as by their own attributes. Batman has the sweet baby jesus of Rogues Galleries, Joker, Penguin, Catwoman, Mr. Freeze, Bane, etc. Superman has Darkseid and the Superman Problem (as your power increases, your ability to cause more problems increased), Spiderman has to deal with being a loser despite his powers, etc.

Sure, Wonder Woman has her place, undeniable. But the only villains I know of her fighting are Sexism in real life, and basically being the only female member of the JLA. (I know there are others, but please forgive me, I;m both drunk, and hate comics)

    Checking wiki now

    Baroness Von Gunther... generic Nazi?
The Duke of Deception, Lieutenant of Ares/Mars... I think he gave me brain damage
Medusa - no imagination there, just copy pasta Greek mythology. Percy effing Jackson did a better job than this.
Doctor Cyber - I am left with the taste of contempt in my mouth here, a brilliant scientist who turns evil against WW because she was made ugly, ugly in her woman face! This is as ridiculous as the whole bit about Lex Luthor becoming Superman's lifelong rival because of male pattern baldness.
Giganta - A woman who can become a giant...
Silver Swan -  I'm drawn back to Dr Cyber, a female villain who is drawn to evil because oh noes shes not pretty enough for Swan Lake
Dr Psycho - For being a feminist icon, WW sure fights a lot of women, but finally a dude. Dr Psycho is a stalker with the emotional competence of a 4th grader. I really like you WW, so I will attempt to destroy you, ;)
    Circe - Chaos sorcereress/Joker aspect.
Ares - Finally an interesting enemy! The martially aspected WW can't just beat the everloving crapulence out of the God of War, so she has to be smart and witty to get around him and defeat him, and then she does.
Cheetah - Facepalm. Catwoman. WW's #1 foe is Catwoman. Goddamn really?

This is why there won't be a Wonder Woman movie. She is a great character, fantastic. But her Rogue's Gallery is as retarded and sexist as the paternalist chauvinistic society that WW has been held up against. This is just a sample of a top ten list of WW villains, but there are 2 men and 8 women.

    Shuffle the deck

My Little Pony comes into play here, and yes I confess that I am a Brony.

But lets look at what is offered: a completely Non-Sexualized program designed for females. The archetypes are designed for females, by females, again without the lense of shallow sexuality.

    1. Smart Girl
    2. Athletic Girl
    3. Shy Girl
    4. Sophisticated/Craft-Oriented Girl
    5. Farm Girl
    6. Party Girl

These six archetypes have redeemed fallen siblings turned into Lovecraftian Monsters (Nightmare Moon) Dragons, Q from Star Trek, manticores, minotaurs, more dragons, tribbles with wings, and more.

Wonder Woman is never going to go anywhere as a movie because Wonder Woman has no real enemies to fight inside her own superhero domain. She is a figure for feminism and feminists, and a rallying point against the massively male dominated and male oriented comic book industry.

    Batman has his Joker
    Superman has Lex Luthor
    Harry Potter has Voldemort
    Luke Skywalker has Darth Vader

Wonder Woman has... the weakest schedule in the conference...

I realize that the MLP reference doesnt go anywhere.

Wonder Woman is a Blank. She is an Everywoman for girls to project onto. Patriotic as all get out, strong, resilient, and all that.

Blanks are fine, but Isabella Swann (Twilight) is a blank too, and look how much culturally we hate her, and the Kirsten Stewart for playing her in the massively successful movies...

  16. Re: Drunken Writer's Guild

I was going to interject that the flash point paradox had her fighting a fairly bad ass aqua man , (I know that those two words fairly meet in a sentence)

but then I just re watched the scene and she has an other woman moment where alot of the drama/fuel for the entire battles come from and then a shunned lover moment.

and alot of other generic cookie cutter bull that I didn't notice when I first watched the movie quite impaired, and even still ... even if there was a defining enemy in this movie ... it was an alternate universe line and thus irrelevant.

I tried to look for a single defining enemy and they are all mythology or nazi or some other heros super enemy that she is helping with.

I didn't realize how much of a blank she was ...

she has the potential to be so much ... but alas I cant find anything. The Atlantis army in an alternate universe is the closest she gets to a true enemy ...  and even so all the JL are in on it so its still not "her" enemy

    BAH.

    ... ends ranting.

Wonder woman was also one of the unspoken lesbian icons of the past, with her cadre of female "friends" during her original debut, until the writers shoe horned in references to boyfriends and such due to public perception.

Part of her blankness was also due to the time period of her conception, when the mind set of the era was "boys don't hit girls" keeping the writers from involving her in any real prolonged conflicts against male antagonists. Given virtually all of the writers were men in those days (from that culture mindset) the female villains were somewhat outside of their writing experience, so came across as lack luster and poorly conceptualized.

Wonder Woman is really a victim of the era in which she was created, and has yet to regain a popularity due to a lack of successful reboot of her comic line since the original run, which limits her publicity to a large part, and condemns her to obscurity compared to the more popular female heroines. (Gean Gray, Bat girl, and even video game char like Samas) Her super weapon (a  magic rope)  is also kinda bland compared to Bat girls techno gadgets, Gen Grays physic abilities and such, to say nothign of te "cool" super powers of Green Lantern, or the technical thrill of Iron Man.

It's a shame too with how much potential she has for uniquity, especially in today's more open minded world.

So, I've discovered a mixed drink that I can actually stand drinking in large quantities. "Terror of the Deep", using Kraken rum. Of course, I have to dilute it down with about 4-5 parts Sprite, instead of the recipe's 1-part Sprite, but I'm willing to deal with being called a panzy if it tastes good. But since it's Kraken it's got a solid kick to it, which means even a diluted glass makes me feel loose, non-drivable and definitely not safe carrying a firearm. This Friday I'm going to down a few of them and see where that takes my writing to.

Knowing my luck, probably nowhere especially useful.

Sounds like a tasty combination, (I always go for taste over the "strength" of the drink.) a reminder if you use diet soda, the sugar free poison (aspartame) they use in it, will make the alcohol have a greater effect on you then if you use the normal non diet variety of soft drinks.
  20. Re: Drunken Writer's Guild

Who the hell drinks diet sprite? Do they even MAKE diet sprite? It's already about as diet as you can get without just going straight water.

Sidenote: This stuff looks like Romulan ale. And if you don't dilute it, it'll hit you in the nuts like such too.

Highland Brewing Company (Asheville NC) has yet to make a beer that I haven't loved. The oatmeal porter is rich and decadent, and my current beer, a St. Terese's Pale Ale is simply sublime. If you have a chance to try this company, give it a shot, you won't be disappointed.

Wonder Woman keeps popping up in my thoughts, expanding on from the previous topic, Wonder Woman being a blank.

I have many friends who feel very strongly about Wonder Woman, and I can appreciate their enthusiasm, but I also cannot share it.

So I think about the characters LIKE Wonder Woman that I have liked.

    Xena, Warrior Princess.

Lucy Lawless was a proper Amazon, and she was smoking hot. She also did this kicking ass and taking names standing shoulder to shoulder with fricking Hercules. She threw a magical chakram, could swing a sword, rode a horse, got bloody and dirty, and when it was time to pick enemies she picked the God of War, Ares. She also had a feminine side, she had a child, she had a cute sidekick, and she had some emotional issues to overcome, fights should couldn't win by sheer force, and was pretty damned awesome.

    Buffy, the Vampire Slayer

Michelle Gellar and the TV series are one of the jewels where the spin off series trumped the movie. Buffy started as a dumb premise, a cheerleader killing vampires, and it turned into a hot commodity. Buffy assembled her own team of teenage avengers, beat the crap of monsters, did her homework, and when that didn't work, she got a LAW rocket and shot a demon with it. She feel in love with a vampire, and basically was awesome, and side note, introduced us to Alyson Hannigan.

    Ellen Ripley, Aliens trilogy

Blue collar worker, screwed by the company, killed a xenomorph almost completely unarmed, cryoslept through her daughter's life and death, killed more xenomorphs, went to a space prison, killed more xenomorphs, and died. Was reborn, killed more xenomorphs, accepted her half xenomorph offspring and then killed it. Ares and the demons should be glad that they never had to deal with Ellen Ripley.

    Sarah Conner, Terminator Trilogy

Like Ripley, Sarah Connor is a Jane Everywoman, with a missing baby daddy and juvenile delinquent son. When time traveling robots show up to kill her, and then her son, she loses her shit, but goes mexican drug cartel crazy armed and her working a pump action shotgun with one arm is possibly one of the most badass things I've seen a human being do in a movie. Don't mess with momma's baby, she will kill you.

There are some common themes between these characters.

Maternal Instinct: Sarah Conner and Ellen Ripley shine in this role, as they were both protective or avenging mothers protecting their own. Xena plays here as well, and this is a solid solid solid motivation. There is a reason they say don't mess with momma bear. Women protecting their offspring can NEVER be overestimated in their motivation and capability.

Group Building dynamic: Xena always had Gabrielle, Buffy had her team, Ripley had Space Marines, androids, and space convicts (whoa, Ripley/Riddick crossover?) Sarah Connor had her own Terminator, or Kyle Reese, or the cartel guys. Basic point, women don't go Lone Wolf like guys do. Women do things in groups, and that's fine. Wonder Woman was a solo act, unless she was playing the Token Female Role in another group.

Being Underestimated: No one really counted on any of these characters at the onset of the story. Ripley was the least famous actor in Alien and was the space equivalent of a truck driver. Sarah Conner was a waitress, Buffy was a cheerleader, etc. Unexpected strength and power from unexpected sources. Xena didn't face this as often, but she was often looked down on because oh, the Warrior Princess is here, uh oh you guys.

Continued: Round 3 is here, bourbon and pepsi.

There are some things about Wonder Woman that I don't like.

She was basically written by a soft core bondage aficionado. She is 'functionally' a super patriotic dominatrix dialed down for comic books. Add in that fact that most of her adversaries were other women (thank the Comic Code Authority for that, because men hitting women in comics is wrong, even if they are super powered amazons and said punches are ineffective as sissy swatting) it kinda meanders over into Introduction to Bondage/Fetish.

And really, fuck that man. That's insulting.

Super Heroes are about being larger than life, tapping into archetypal energies and exploding outwards from there, drawing us into their power.

Superman is God, almighty, all powerful, but ultimately compassionate and caring. We are drawn to his ability to lift heavy things, and ignore sissy bullets, and his self sacrifice creates allegories to Jesus (and Optimus Prime)

Batman is a brooding loner with all the toys and the vendetta to kick ass, beat the crap out of the BEST rogue's gallery of villains, and he was one of the first characters that we experience Death through. Batman becomes Batman because his parents are murdered. Batman is Hades, he is the fear of death, and the power to overcome the fear of death.

Flash is the fastest man in the world, FASTEST. MAN. IN. THE. MOTHERFUCKINT. WORLD. He is the jokester, the prankster, he is Hermes.

Green Lantern = Courage, creativity, imagination, willpower, etc. Kick Ass man, kick ass.

Spider Man is a loser. He has no money, no base, no cool gadgets, he barely gets the girl, but you know what, even being an effing loser, he still gets out there, kicks ass, is part of the avengers, and all that even if he has a prepaid T-Mobile phone and still lives with his aunt. Spider Man is what most of us would be if we got super powers by ACCIDENT.

    Jumping over to Marvel:

Hulk - is there a better representation of the enraged Id? SMASH, DESTROY, Hulk is who we all want to be when saturday work is scheduled, or when we are cut off in traffic, or the person in front of us gets the last item for sale.

Thor has great hair. Eff you Thor.

Captain America is in the same category as Superman and Optimus Prime. Cap also picks up Mjolner in the Avengers and hands it to Thor. It's easily overlooked. Mjolner can only be lifted by the pure of heart and the worthy. Suck it Thor.

X-Men are a look into the Civil Rights Movement and Race Relations without you know, dealing too much with actual race.

lots more can be written here but IDGAF

And we pick Wonder Woman up again.

Not only is Wonder Woman a Blank, she is a Token Female Character. A brunette Barbie in a star-spangled unitard. With a minor in bondage. Nothing Greek/Amazon about that.
  27. Re: Drunken Writer's Guild

What do we need to do to Fix Wonder Woman.

Backstory and Motivation: Wonder Woman needs to come from something beyond being a magical warrior princess. What is her call to adventure, who has decided to mess with something important to her to the point that she will put on a suitable superhero costume to kick their ass for it?

Adversary: Wonder Woman needs both a primary antagonist, and a rogue's gallery. Batman has the Joker, Superman has Lex Luthor, etc. WW needs someone who is her antithesis, and equal. Who knows her weaknesses, who can take her to the edge, who can make her lose her cool and lash out instinctually. This is important because 'Male Chauvinism', 'Sexism', and 'Sexual Discrimination' are not very good villains. They don't look good in costumes and people aren't going to find a way to relate to them.

Teamwork: Wonder Woman needs to LEAD a small group to their consensual goal and ultimate victory.

    Things to Avoid:

Drawing back to Hera. In Greek Mythology Hera was basically the nagging bitchy wife who never really busted her husband's gonads for sleeping around on her, she just turned his flings into animals, which is just weird. In popular culture, I find it difficult to think of a positive association for Hera. She is basically all the worst attributes commonly associated with women rolled into one lump (nagging, hostile, frigid, etc) and the good stuff gets handed off to Aphrodite, Athena, Gaia, etc.

Sex: If Samus Aran can wear space marine armor through 99.9% of Metroid, Wonder Woman doesn't have to fight her enemy in a onesie bathing suit for the entirety of her feature. A female character can appear in a movie poster without sticking her ass out, or showing a large amount of cleavage. Faora-Ul did a pretty decent job of this in Man of Steel.

Magic: When 'magic' or 'magick' appear in a superhero comic, someone needs to be hit in the face, because magic is lazy shorthand.

Potential ideas and their pros and cons

Alien (Thor Approach/Man of Steel vs Batman Approach) -  Wonder Woman is not human, or not entirely human, as an alien/alien hybrid she is able to superhero. This works from a thematic perspective, but it moves WW away from the average human female. This can be okay, but you really need to tie into the Superman Dilemma, ala the greater your power, the greater the consequences of your actions become.

Accident/Experiment (Hulk/Spider-Man) - WW is the product of a complete and total cock up, no one expected her to become a superhero after surviving 'the accident'. This is middle of the road meh. Hulk works through an application of psychology/primal anger, Spider Man reaches our angsty inner teen. What does Accidental Wonder Woman do?

Self-Made Hero (Cap, Batman, Ironman) - super serum and super patriotism, kung fu and serious personal issues, genius and money, the self made hero is a badass of their own design, calm cool collected and well this is my category that I really like because I am a bit of a humanist and kinda like superheroes who create themselves rather than stumble into the arena (what would have happened if the radioactive spider bit Peter Parker's classmate Carter Cranston?) or are aliens (Of course I can fly, shoot lasers out my ass and make time change by moving really fast, all Superheroids from Superherion can do that) blah blah blah. Ripley and Sarah Conner are in this category too.

  28. Re: Drunken Writer's Guild

The six foes every superhero needs:

The Rival - kinda like the SH, but opposite moral polarity or alternate perspective. The Rival is similar in build characteristic to the SH, but doesnt share their goals, ideals, or value set. Example: Catwoman to Batman, she has gadgets, and is a thief versus his detective.

The Titan - Bigger, smarter, stronger, and nigh undefeatable, the Titan has to be fought with everything the SH has. Batman has Bane, Superman has Darkseid, The X-Men have Magneto.

The Genius - Smarter, much smarter, well prepared and well equipped. Lex Luthor is a ruthless human being who routinely gives alien superbeing Superman a run for his money. With no superpowers of his own. Also that space genie mr miztelplexiglass or whatever his name was who could only be defeated by making him say his own name backwards.

The Enemy who Can't Be Punched Into Submission - The enemy has whatever reason that prevents the SH from just beating the ever loving hell out of them. Instead, the fight has be to be by proxy, or through hidden means. Batman can't just bust the bejesus out of Two-Face because Harvey Dent is the man who beat crime in Gotham.

The Brick - A punching bag who can take everything the SH can throw at the them and keep coming. Superman has Bizarro, the zombies from zombie movies, Juggernaut, Omega Red, Colossus, Abomination, General Zod. The Brick and the Titan can be similar, but the Brick is not going to be smarter than the SH.

Anti-thesis - The SH has a foe who is everything that stand against. The Joker is everything that Batman is not, chaos versus order, embracing madness vs chasing sanity, never kill vs shit happens.

The Mirror - Like the Rival, the Mirror is everything the SH is, but then add some to it. Better equipped, better prepared, better trained, better armed. The SH has to prevail either through trickery, intelligence, knowing an achillies heel, etc. Iron Monger is superior to Iron Man in every way except one, good thing Tony took care of the ice problem. This is similar to the rivalry between Loki and Thor after Loki is made king, or the fight between the Red Skull and Cap.

Male Expy of Wonder Woman, Cap'n America if he was from the Jersey Shore and the Super Serum was 30% Axe Body Spray and 30% Spray Tan

The Titan - Bigger, smarter, stronger, and nigh undefeatable, the Titan has to be fought with everything the SH has. Batman has Bane, Superman has Darkseid, The X-Men have Magneto.

Good place for a social tie in, a powerful dominant Father figure that wants WW to be a good little girl, representing the role that society wants women to play.

The emotionally abusive manipulative villain, Barney Stinson from How I Met Your Mother if he had super powers. Suit Up!

Someone who does work towards a common goal, such as a on outspoken feminine radicalist who goes a bit too far. WW couldn't beat the crap out of another woman who is motivated to crime because of male oppression and sexual abuse, even if she is putting lives in danger, cause collateral damage, and putting the city in danger

    Super Jock Football Player Rapist

Anti-thesis - The SH has a foe who is everything that stand against. The Joker is everything that Batman is not, chaos versus order, embracing madness vs chasing sanity, never kill vs shit happens.

a misogynistic hyper-conservative neo-religious super villain, who happens to be a woman.

Rival Amazon of greater experience and rank who goes darkside ala Sinestro

Doing some research on something I'm writing.

Who would be a damned good rival for Wonder Woman? Effing Lady Death.

Princess Diana cares for people, and America, and truth and justice... Lady Death just wants to kill every living human being on the planet so that she finish getting her revenge.

    Life versus Death.

Cold, emotionless, the bringer of death, the ender of all life. Lady Death is the anti-thesis of all that is female. Plus she could probably hire Dethklok as her musical back up. And again, the Greek legacy is democracy, and creating the light of Western culture, social equality, truth, justice and all that, where the Vikings (Apparently LD is a Swede according to Wiki) are more known for raping, murder, plunder, burning villages, killing priests, and abducting women.

    Superfast super heroes.

It has been done right twice, and the first time, it was kinda shaky.

You know what I hate, the Blur character. He's just a streak of color and everything boom is just done.

It's lame. I'm jaded, I'm not fucking impressed by this.

It works in the comics because it's a really really limited medium for art.

On film it looks terrible or cartoony, because it is.

You know who did a fantastic fast character? Quicksilver from X-Men: Days of Future Past. That were seriously the best two minutes of that entire movie, and for me, the only reason to watch it. The juxtaposition of Jim Croce's Time in a Bottle with Quicksilver moving at a self relative moderate pace, but the effects in the scenery displaying how fast he is moving, ala things frozen in space, the incredibly slow movement of the fired bullets, and the fact that despite multiple rounds fired, he isn't horribly concerned and tastes the sauce, his actions against the shooters borders on pranks, and then steals a hat before moving the bullets out of the way at the last minute is comical.

And effective in a way that the stupid blink blur is not.

Sorry Age of Ultron Quicksilver, you sucked as a really fast character.

Neo from the Matrix played at this for a bit, dodging bullets and whatnot, and pioneers some cool special effects ala bullet time, but it suffered from the following two Matrix movies with Neo going full munchkin and then dying.
