Generator Challenge!

1. Generator Challenge!

   Hello All:

   I'd like to propose a project - a City/Town generator.

It will need a bunch of sub generators/wigits.  I'm thinking we need (in addition to such things as population, etc)

   Business Generator
   Rumor Generator
   Leader
   Jobs
   Exceptional People/Celebraties
   Establishments
   Local Attractions
   Major issues
   Legends/Historical Events of Note
   Ruler(s)

And more! Maybe even a map generator.

The end result would be something a GM could put in their binder.

   I'll tackle a ruler/government generator.

I forgot to mention. Where possible, bring in submission content from the site. We want to draw folks into the site proper.

For my part I've been working on a Town Leader Generator. So far I've got the following variables:

   title
   name
   age
   career
   competency
popularity, and "with whom" in some cases

And I'm working on adding political policies. I'm also trying to add some content from MoonHunter's The Mayor sub. Although it's designed for a modern/supers campaign, I think there's some content that could be reappropriated for a fantasy setting.

So, what else do we want to see here?

Brief history blurb. How did this person become the Town Leader.

Wise words, Muro. Presenting the completed Town Leader Generator. A sample:

The chief civil servant is Laoe Idla, an old, bony wealthy tradesman. The chief civil servant assumed the title after it was vacant for many years. An efficient leader, Idla is quite popular. Idla's policies focus on public works: repaving roads, erecting fountains, maintaining the public granaries. He deals with all the various parts of the city's community. He makes sure their needs are attended too, and that they owe him for getting those needs met, arranging meetings for various people for mutual benefit.

Here's one that could be built into the city generator too: Street Gang Generator.

The Alley Ring are a violent gang that operate mostly in the trade district. They're known for their kidnapping and ransom schemes. Most members are dockhands, day laborers, and other working-class folk, and can be identified by the distinctive call they shout to each other. The wicked foreigner that leads the gang is called "Rock Branam". The gang is funded by a foreign power that pays them to spy on and create chaos for the city.
