Sub Title Changed After Posting
#1Hey.
This sub strolen.com/viewing/Felicia_Fever_Cortez
Was posted with the title Felicia “Fever” Cortez, pasted directly from the editing document.
It posted fine, but after lunch it showed up on the forums as just "Felicia," and the title now reads "Felicia" as well. I tried to fix it but it tells me there's already a sub by that name and won't change it. -
Re: Sub Title Changed After Posting
#2Fixed. Next version will allow title changes. I disallowed it because of the linking between posts. If you change a title and somebody linked to it with that title, the link will break.
But figured most title changes happen relatively quickly so will go ahead and allow it. Will have a better "not found" page in the future to handle the occassional issue.
All in the next version though. -
Re: Sub Title Changed After Posting
#3Still bad. Doesn't accept quotes for some reason. -
Re: Sub Title Changed After Posting
#4Something to do with the double quotes I can't figure out fast.
So I hacked it and forced them to single quotes and you should be good to go. Looks fine that way too.
On the bug report for next version to make sure I take this into account and figure it out. -
Re: Sub Title Changed After Posting
#5Are you using parameterized queries for the DB insert, or are you just joining the strings together? -
Re: Sub Title Changed After Posting
#6Not really a query issue.
There is nothing wrong with the initial input, database save etc. The issue is when you go to edit it, for some reason the codeigniter set_value is doing something with the variable to it so it scrambles. I tried addslashes all the html decode/entities etc to put it in there but the text field ends up parsing the string as separate variables in the text field. It is all about the form and how codeigniter populates it. I can echo it before it gets there and it shows up with the quotes and no issues. Put it back in the text field, gone. I can edit the summary to take the title and the title shows up no problem in the summary area, put it back in the text field and it scrambles again.
So, basically, I quit trying to figure it out since it seems to take single quotes without issue. Otherwise I will end up breaking either my brain or the forms. So will reattack later. Feel free to play with it though. -
Re: Sub Title Changed After Posting
#7Thank you. And single quotes are just fine. Probably more appropriate for the usage anyway. :)
