NPC characteristics Gen.
#1I think it is better to try it here where we are private, than to throwing it immediately into the Citadel. I created a similar thingy once before, and was very close to insulting one person of great creativity. But that's another story.

Well then, do you like this idea or not? As a matter of fact, most of the people that created those characteristics are Admins, so they can read this. If you don't like it, reply and I will remove it. -

#2I am all for it! and it is pretty cool!! -

#3Well, I am glad you like it, so let me reveal another one. Something that is still not perfect, but I like is here:

#4The npc generator is great! It's good to recognize some of my own ideas in there. The persona generator is good too. -
NPC characteristics Gen.
#5Ooooo.... I likes muchly. Maybe you could combine the two. That way people could just pick out what they need, sort of like one-stop shopping. Would also probably be easier to maintain if on one page.
And feel free to use any of my submissions. That's what they're there for. -

#6Also, would you object terribly if I used your code to create my own random generator? I am almost programming illiterate, but I could figure out how to make it do what I wanted. I would of course, give you the credit you deserve. Alternatively, could you maybe PM or email me instructions on how to write that particular code? If it's too much trouble, never mind. -

#7Wow, seems you people like it! 8)
Combining: hmmm... absolutely easy from the coder's point of view, though I am not sure yet about this one. If other generators are created, I could make them one BIG monster of a Generator... so you would create a person including shoe size.
Ad Ria: Creating new ones?
I would be glad to help anyone. Have a look at the HTML+Javascript code itself, I hope it is easy to understand (but no guarantee), is even a bit commented.
- The NPC Characteristic Gen simply generates from a list, so it could be easily adapted.
- The Persona Gen was created from a weird combination of objects and Javascript... it could be easy to adapt, or not.
Anyway, if you have some ideas or problems with coding, feel free to share them, here or per PM. I will help as I can. -

#8Hmmm... found in the Ideas etc, that NPC char. could be divided into Physical, Emotional, Action, and so on.
Does anyone want it, or is it alright for the moment? Will complicate things a little, but it is doable. -

#9Hallo again!
For some time I have been creating another set of Generators, inspired by the idea of a certain Manuel Ebert, and later by the very Johnn from RPGTips. It seems both of them have little time, and I need an opinion:
This is a Personality Generator, that generates two things, namely personality and private life. What I have problem with is the design; put them:
http://frix.fri.utc.sk/~manfred/rpg/personalityGen.html side-by-side
OR
http://frix.fri.utc.sk/~manfred/rpg/personalityGen.php one after another?
Or in some other way?

Two more generators that will go public one day:
Roleplaying Locations

#10I remember that Personality Generator :) I had some fun meddling around with it a while back.
Nice little trinkets of programs to help you when you're stuck for thought of someone to make. -

#11The only issue I see with it (it's fantastic) is that it has a tendency to yield a lot of Priests and Diplomats. But other than that... -

#12Side-by-side it shall be then, Ancient Gamer was kind to help.
The problem is because of the small number of potential jobs... it should be improved in some next version, someday. But I think it fulfills the main function, to inspire. I used it to make a few parties of adventurers, and the results were interesting (one turned out dominantly focused on money, the other very altruistic).
