Site Problems 2013-06-13
#1Well, something went terribly, terribly wrong with the database. As such, if you find any bugs or missing bits of functionality that used to be there but aren't anymore, toss them in this thread and we'll take a look at them. -
Re: Site Problems 2013-06-13
#2How many submissions have I lost? I think one or two are missing. -
Re: Site Problems 2013-06-13
#3Not sure. Google has this as the latest: http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?aq=f&oq=cache%3Astrolen.com%2Fbrowse_author%2FCheka%2520Man%2F0&sourceid=chrome&channel=cs&ie=UTF-8&q=cache%3Astrolen.com%2Fbrowse_author%2FCheka%2520Man%2F0
If that is true then you have them. Did you submit anything after those? -
Re: Site Problems 2013-06-13
#4It exists (30 Plumes) on that link, but only the half completed version. I suppose I'll need to redo it. :( I don't think I had an7ytrhing else, if I did I forgot what it was. :( -
Re: Site Problems 2013-06-13
#5From intimate workings with that table, I happen to know this is related:
A Database Error Occurred
Error Number: 1054
Unknown column 'score' in 'order clause'
SELECT * FROM (`lockmor_content`) JOIN `smf_members` ON `id_member` = `author_id` WHERE `show_content` = '1' ORDER BY `score` DESC LIMIT 20
Filename: /home/strolen/public_html/models/mhunt.php
Line Number: 254
This is from the http://strolen.com/hunting/search page, when I tried to search submissions. -
Re: Site Problems 2013-06-13
#6With everything backdated to April 14th, a bug that Strolen has fixed crept back in. Basically, there's a database anomaly with the freetext 0 and it shouldn't be there. -
Re: Site Problems 2013-06-13
#7Another issue, I released 2 of my missing location subs from in-work to normal and now they've just gone missing. From my author profile, it says I've got 2 location subs but then if you click on the Locations link, it takes to the error msg whereby the BH is saying the emptiness upset them. However, they are up on the frontpage. -
Re: Site Problems 2013-06-13
#8Regardless of the fact that I re-added the Weavers Guild freetext to my missing WG subs, the only ones that crop up under the WG freetext is Dossta's pre 13/06/13 -
Re: Site Problems 2013-06-13
#9Found this issue, working it. -
Re: Site Problems 2013-06-13
#10Missing submission listings.
Fixed. I updated your two.
This may happen with other submissions you have recently updated too. To fix, just edit and save and it will fix itself.
Freetext to 0 is fixed now too.

#11Bareka is saved! Hurrah!
I notice a (probably) minor issue however; when I go into the Bareka sub itself, it says there's 6 votes on it, however there's only 4 comments, and on the main page it says there's 4 votes on it (which is correct, I think.)

Re: Site Problems 2013-06-13
#12Shucks. I tried to do a limited update but all the new subs had correct stats that I updated.
Will do a 100% recount on votes, comments and scrolls maybe tonight. Don't want to force it and want to review my logic one more time.
Thanks! -
Re: Site Problems 2013-06-13
#13Having a few problems with the editor atm. The primary and secondary categories don't update when I change the first drop-down from "Plot" to something else. When I try to leave those blank, I will get an error saying that those haven't been set (expected), but I can now set the categories (yay). Except that it won't accept any changes to the sub at that point because it thinks I'm duplicating a pre-existing title xD This was on 30 Members of the Players Cult, if that helps. -
Re: Site Problems 2013-06-13
#14Go back on your browser a couple of times - that seemed to work for me.
To avoid it on other subs, first time through just change the main category and leave the sub windows in the default 'plot' setting.
Second time - set the sub categories/location/etc to desired values.
3rd time is the charm.
:)

#15Alright, looking good now. Thanks, val! -
Re: Site Problems 2013-06-13
#16Somehow, I can still edit my Author Homepage but the save button doesn't work properly That is, you will see the new changes being saved 'temporarily' straight after an edit but once you exit the page and come back again, it's back to how it was. -

Definitely happening on my restored subs as well -- Player Cult MacGuffins and 30 Members of the Players Cult both have double votes. No huge biggie, but I figured an additional data point might not hurt when debugging this. :) -

#19Hey, I'm glad we got burned -- think of all the things we learned! (For the submissions that are still alive). -

...We don't have any form of "Like" button. This is a truly sad state of affairs, because I want to be mashing it as hard as I possibly can right now. -

Re: Site Problems 2013-06-13
#22Hmm. Me too on the save. Bug logged and remains unfixed for now.
And sometime next week I will do a full comment/idea count recount to update it all and get it back to the correct stats. -
Re: Site Problems 2013-06-13
#23No worries, take your time. At least the main functionalities are back. -
Re: Site Problems 2013-06-13
#24Author homepage should work now.
Still too scared to do the comment/vote till I have more time to mess with the code and make 132 backups.
