Okay, so I've been meaning to join for ages but then I was in and out of the Citadel. Now I think it's time to declare my intention to join but Mathom's clutch might yet be firm.

Now that I'm released from the Weaver Guild Quest, I can concentrate on the Strolenati Guild Quest. One question, though:
I somehow vaguely remember that the requirements for upvoted comments and upvotes on different author count over a 30 day period in which case I already fulfill these requirements according to the Quest Logging box on my Author profile (I know that's for past Quests rather than Guild Quests), is this true? Or do I have to start again on those two requirements (I mean, the upvotes on different authors weren't part of the Weaver Guild Quest, I usually do it anyway. However, the upvoted comments I got recently are tied to user submitted ideas I put in for the Weaver Guild)

    Tab on progress:
1 sub posted: Magic System based on Fengshui (1 vote, score 4)
5 2 comments upvoted (6 comments upvoted as listed in the Quest Logging box on Author profile pre dedication to Strolenati Quest)
10 different authors' comments upvoted (coinciding with increase in number of authors votes from 10 to 20 in Quest Logging box)

That stat box in your profile is just a running tally that has no knowledge of what quests you embark on. Mark down the numbers now that you start at and increment from there as they are not a true representation for this quest. Once you start a new quest, everything starts at 0 and nothing counts except what comes after.

The Weavers Guild is in your past. It is a distant memory and matters not. You are pledged to the Strolenati now and all that you were and all that you did is meaningless to the Strolenites. Earn your stripes anew by all original content, votes and upvotes. Your tracking starts now. Muahahahahaha

(Of course the magic sub you just submitted counts. I will look and comment tomorrow. Very late day for me and have just enough time to do a couple maintenance tasks and I am crashing!)

WELCOME TO THE STROLENATI GUILD. WE HOPE YOU SURVIVE TO JOIN US!

    All right, will start anew.
  6. Re: Moonlake to join the Guild

Looks like this will be a long trek to completion.

You're wasting your talents on these non-dwarven guilds. Nevertheless, i wish you luck and good fortune on your journey of self-discovery.

Well, I like the bearded folks all right but can't picture myself as one of them. The only thing that I have in common with the dwarves is my height but I just can't picture myself as a bearded female dwarve. For that matter, I can't picture myself as any other fantasy races, either. Maybe I'm just too entrenched in my human ways hehe.

There's nothing wrong with being human, or having a preference to be such. I have a friend who constantly pesters me about being "boring" because I prefer to play humans, but I find there to be infinitely more variety within humans than with other races.

I agree. Also, I'm a non-gamer but if I was to take up a game, I would want to be more or less myself, not a pretend character based on a common fantasy race archetype.
  11. Re: Moonlake to join the Guild

    #11
Wait, wait, wait, wait. Pretend character based on a common fantasy race......what?

Are you saying dwarves aren't real?  Wha....
  12. Re: Moonlake to join the Guild

Worry yourself not with the petty Dwarf playgroup! They will fall as the others will. True absolution may only be found within the folds of the Necromantic cult! Come, join us and unleash your true potential!

I think that Moonlake has shown unquestionably good taste by first aligning herself with the Weavers, undisputed shadow masters of the Citadel.  Ally yourself with the Strolenati if you must -- for they have forged many the works upon which the Weavers build -- but take care before aligning yourself with the bearded ones or with the death-lovers.  They would drown us all in a sea of ale and blood.
  14. Re: Moonlake to join the Guild

Hah. Cartography is where its at. How else would the necromancers find the site of the great burial mounds, filled with thousands of corpses? How else would the dwarves figure out how to navigate their mines? How else would the weavers weave? Face facts, people. The cartographers are the indisputable overlords of this citadel. Especially since most need a map to find the Great Hall and to get back to their rooms.

Align with the cartographers, and we will not only provide a free set of mapping supplies, but also the maps of every necromantic, dwarven, of weaving base in the entire world.

    As well as cookies.

Hmmm.... It's funny how this thread is becoming an advertising run by nearly all the guilds. Well, guys, I'm honoured by the attention but *coughs and whispers* Mathom's grasp is strong on this particular undertaking.
  16. Re: Moonlake to join the Guild

...Mathom's grasp is strong on this particular undertaking.

Umm, that would mean that this particular undertaking has no chance of ever being completed.

I think you mean to say that Mathom's grasp isn't strong on this particular undertaking.
  17. Re: Moonlake to join the Guild

    #17
No, I do mean to say Mathom's grasp is strong as in it will be taking me ages to update the Fengshui sub into completed status i.e. I will finish the Strolenati Quest eventually but it will be taking me quite some time (and therefore, it's too early to think abt embarking on another Guild quest). btw, in case you didn't revisit the Fengshui sub, I made a note there that I will be PMing everyone interested (you and a few others) when it's more or less done.

It gets too tedious to scroll back up to the last tab on progress entry so I'm putting in a new one.

    Tab on progress:
1 sub posted: Magic System based on Fengshui (3 votes, score 4.17)

I put up a newfangled Guild tracking thing in your profile. Give that bad boy a shot.

You are on the edge of greatness (if not there already!!)
  20. Re: Moonlake to join the Guild

    #20
Ah, I saw that go up yesterday but wasn't in the mood of commenting. I'm still 2 down on the upvoted comments.  I've been busy mainly with making the Fengshui sub more complete and it's taking me ages.

Also, I just played around with the guild tracking thing. I think it's great to have this addition, makes it so much easier to track the Strolenati Guild quest, good job.
  21. Re: Moonlake to join the Guild

Finally fixed the main body of the Fengshui sub, the two companion scrolls are upcoming work though *sigh*
  22. Re: Moonlake to join the Guild

    #22
At the rate I'm going, I think I'll just get the Combo spell done, post up two images so people can better understand the concepts and then call it a day. Else, seriously Mathom will get this in his clutches and I will never be able to finish.
  23. Re: Moonlake to join the Guild

Hurray, all requirements met! I'm in!

*A robed form coalesces from the shadows, it's arrival accompanied by mocking laughter*

"Congratulations, young weaver. Perhaps now that you have finished playing with your needles and thread you may wish to take on a more... fulfilling role. The necromantic cult sees potential in you; your services would be most valuable in our efforts. Think about it - and we shall be waiting."

*As abruptly as the figure appeared, the robed form melts back into the shadow*

HOLD THE VOICE BOX OF FAR SPEECH!

Nobody. And I mean Nobody....wait scratch that, Nobody can't do it either....how do I phrase that...

    ahem.

There is nobody else in the entire UNIVERSE that can bestow Strolenati guildem on a person accept the Mightiest of Guilds, Greatest of Brotherhoods (with chicks allowed), Most Extravagant of Extravangancies, His Holiest Socks of Socks, the one and only Strolenati Guild Master.....(in the notable phrasing of the most popular female actor in the world, Mrs. Piggy)...Muah.

Where did I put that banishment scroll. Is the town collector ringing his bong and calling out "Bring out your dead."?

(and yes, I am holding a pen and licking a pencil, deal with it)
  29. Re: Moonlake to join the Guild

So I see your sub only has 3 votes. Considering that I am reading it now it is I, the great and powerful StrO(Z)len that gets to officially give you entrance into the guild.

So 1 submission and eventually 4 votes. Almost checked.

    Soooooon.

    Hazzah!

You are NOW in the Strolenati. Well earned. Go forth and kick dwarves and bury zombies to your heart's content.

    CONGRATS!
  31. Re: Moonlake to join the Guild

    #31
Oops, didn't realise it was 4 votes, I get too accustomed to the Weaver Guild where it was 3 votes. Oh well, didn't matter, I guess, since it was only 1 day apart when I put in the siggie and when I actually earned it.

Weaver what? I don't even know what you are talking about. Must be some small, obscure thing.
