   Can we make it so that only new submissions can be added to the current quest?  That way we don't have any confusion when it comes to voting time.

   Hmm. If creation time is older than quest start time then counts on the quest for overall tracking but not on the current quest for points and contests?
   
   Or make it so anybody can submit to any quest but only a new sub. I like being able to add stuff to older quests, just not as official quest submissions obviously since they are after the quest timeline.
   
   My words confuse me but I think they make some kind of sense.

   I actually really like the second thing you said.  Requiring new subs for the quests (even old quests) is most in keeping with the spirit of the challenge, and will keep them from being flooded with old subs.  The only downside is that you have to remember to select a quest when you write the sub. 
   
   Hmmmm . . .  would it be enough to add a week-long deadline to a new sub -- add it to a quest in that timeframe or forever keep your peace?  That will keep someone from having to bother you if they accidentally forgot that step during the submission process.  The latest quest checkbox should probably stay available as long as the current quest is going on, however (just like it is now).

   I think forcing quest subs to be new makes sense when there is a time limit on the official quest timeframe.

   So you're saying i can't finish a 3/4ths completed cult sub from 07' and pop it in?  :)

   This works reasonably well, and removes a lot of potentially complicated rules.  Still shouldn't be able to add subs to the newest quest once the deadline has passed.  Not until after voting happens, at least.

   Okay, only quest subs younger then the end of quest should be votable. I think it already works that way.
   
   Now, its technically possible to update during the voting, but voters should be able to see that.
