It seems like it's difficult to know when someone has updated a sub after it's been commented on (or to get others to notice that you've updated a sub of your own.)

Would it work to have a section on the profile that shows the most recently edited subs with a modified date later than last date that user commented/voted on it? For example, suppose I make a comment on a few subs and then a week later one of those authors makes significant edits. The next time I go to my profile, I would see that sub show up in my "edited since last comment" section.

In the same vein, it would be nice to see some kind of flag on the sub itself. For instance, if I go back to a sub that I haven't looked at for some time, I would be able to see if it had been edited since I last commented on it.

    Just some food for thought.

I rather like all the ideas that Mystic has outlined here.  Getting updated votes and comments when you change a sub has always been a weakness of the current system, and these seem like highly reasonable, unintrusive suggestions to fix that.

I especially like the idea of having another list of subs that shows up in my profile.  It definitely beats receiving an email or something.  If the author left a comment on the update, you could also display that comment in the list under the sub's name, perhaps.

    Agreed.
