Silveressa and Kassy
#1Just wanted to start some thinking/discussion.
My perspective:
I want Silveressa back. She won't be an admin in this forum but will still be a Strolenati moderator with some rights...at least that is my thought if she does come back.
We have been talking a little back and forth and I got a rather long email from her last week that I have been pondering. She likes the Citadel and I think you will all agree that she is a valuable contributor and commenter.
The main issue, of course, is the subject. The Silv vs. Kassy drama. Silveressa simply asked that dual accounts be handled and then she will be happy. Not really a lot to ask and I am not even sure this is an issue anymore. Not that it necessarily was an issue at the time either, but if it only takes something this simple to get Silv back and her online presence in support of the Citadel once again, it is probably worth it.
So, was just going to make a blanket policy somewhere that any overlapping IPs will require an explanation to the admins if/when challenged. This response will be requested through PM and the answer posted here in the Admin thread for us to decide what to do with it. We can give Strolenati/mods the verdict but it will be our (Full Admins) decision.
So once I drop that out there, I will politely ask the few accounts that have issues to explain it and see what happens. I think nothing much will come out of it except some time spent looking at a few accounts and we can call it good. After that if something comes up then we have our procedures.
Why do I care so much? Well, because Silv cared enough to write an email explaining her side and asking about the current state of the Citadel. Anybody that puts that much effort into something has my attention and support to try and work it out. I always liked having Silveressa here despite the drama. She is a force and I would like her on our side. It is good to have active members and she was definitely active before we pissed her off. I don't see her like RGTraynor coming in just to make a stink. She likes the Citadel and wants to be a part of it and I am inclined to do what little I can to make it happen.
So give me your thoughts, opinions, caveats or rules that pop into your head to make this happen (or not happen). Thanks for your time!

#2Really, there is not much to say or add to your statement. Lets get her back! Everything will be fine, she loves it here. I agree with everything you said. -
Re: Silveressa and Kassy
#3I'm fine with her coming back, I was actually sad she left. And I think the Sil/Kassy bit was the least important matter that came to a head back then. -
Re: Silveressa and Kassy
#4I agree. Better noise then silence, though the site has been anything but silent lately - a very good thing.

#5Good enough for me then. Will put something together over the next couple days. Thanks!! -
Re: Silveressa and Kassy
#6Just as long as we don't have the constant fire alarm -
Re: Silveressa and Kassy
#7Roger that! I said a little bit about that. Here is the quote for your awareness.
"Yes, I have probably made some mistakes with my apathy towards problems. We all have a different tolerance threshold and mine is VERY high. None of us have ever had a real heavy hand in the citadel and we like it that way. We don't really see ourselves as admins, just part of the community. We tend to let things handle themselves, and most things do. When we need to get involved, we usually discuss it and I take the action. More to protect others from issues that come up so I can take the blame for whatever it is. The title of Admin is more of a honor than it is an expectation for moderation. It is just they way we roll. As we get a little more popular there will be times that we need to act though. I would just prefer the admins (and myself) to do as little as possible and that has kinda worked for the last decade or so. Not something we can, or want to change really. We are old and set in our way now so change is not something that is easy for us. So you will have to understand our casual perspective on moderation...generally we don't."
This was only an excerpt of course. Haven't had a reply from her yet. She is a moderator still but hopefully she has a better understanding of what we expect (or don't expect) after what we went through.
If I am wrong in what I said above, we probably need to talk it out a bit to make sure we are on the same page. You all ARE admins and I give you free reign to do whatever you find needs to be done. I think that you all have similar thoughts as me on the whole situation and/or would act very rationally if anything came up so I have never worried. Silveressa was the first one that really surprised me with stuff. So don't take this as a "don't act". We have always worked together well and I am sure that will continue without issue.
