30's

1. 30's

Hey, I'm new here, so maybe I've missed it if something like this is already in place.

I'd love to be able to find all the 30's in one place, even though they're all from different sections.  I was thinking it could go under the Library section of the site.

   Welcome Rune.

You should be able to find most 30s via its freetext at http://strolen.com/freetext/30. (There is a link to the various freetexts under the Library menu.)

Eggcellent.  I get it now, thanks!

I haven't seen another site quite like this one.  Tough to figure at first, but think it'll be rewarding.  :)

It does take a little bit to learn all the ins and outs here, but we tend to be a helpful bunch so don't hesitate to ask questions.

Rune, would love to hear what you thought difficult to work or what you found confusing! We have been trying to make it more "new user" friendly and I know I have quite a bit still to do on that....but I am so ingrained in the site I don't have a good perspective anymore.

If you are willing, would love to hear your thoughts.

Either way, very glad you found us and hope to see you around the community!!

Sure.  Mostly the way the site is organized, the layout and the very idea of the way the content exists is very different from other sites.  When I looked at the main page I was like "wow, there's so much here and I have no idea what is what."

I found my way to the "I am Newish" link in the Library section and that led me to "New to Strolen's Citadel", which cleared up some things.    My main suggestion is to find a way to make that particular article more prominent to new visitors.

I had first gone down to the very bottom of the home page and went to the exploring link, which says it is handy for those new to the site.  I wasn't really sure what I was looking at when I went there.  The freetext jumble (I don't really like those in general) and a bunch of Random things.  Very confusing and not too helpful.  I'd suggest clearing most of that stuff off and housing the Newish articles there.

Thanks for the welcomes and I hope to be contributing soon :)

Also, do users ALWAYS have to enter captchas when they post? Or will that hurdle disappear after a certain post-count is reached?

   Great feedback!!

I disabled the repeat verification (must have been an update with the forum as I didn't purposely set that...I don't think). Also made it a little easier to register. Until we have an issue with spammers, no sense making it difficult to register!

   Thanks again!
