Upset Barbarian Horde is Greatly Upset
#1"This emptiness upsets me greatly." ~Barbarian Horde
There are 184 empty category combinations left on the Citadel (out of 196 when we started). I counted them, and I was terrified that I would be eaten by a grue every step of the way. Each of these empty combinations greatly upsets the Barbarian Horde, and nobody likes an angry Barbarian Horde.
There is a way to fix it. Write a submission to fill this ugliness!!!
I heard "Strolenites are waaaay too creative to leave category combinations blank." So the challenge is to you. Appease the Barbarian Horde by choosing a topic below and writing a submission to fill the void.

I was wondering the same thing. Some of them are so exclusive that they don't make a lot of sense. On the other hand, many submissions cover several categories but can only be entered into one. For example, the http://strolen.com/viewing/The_Sea_of_Snot is a location but it also has lifeforms. -

#4True enough. Perhaps a list of checkboxes for the subcategories could be implemented instead? That way, you could have a Location classified as City/State/Underground. Adding the ability to multiclass a sub as Location/Lifeforms would be cool, but would be more work. -

I was actually inspired to write Icegate because of all the upsetting emptiness I found when I looked for a Door in the Arctic. Later, I took it upon myself to fill all of the emptiness I could find at Strolen's, but I found so much emptiness that I decided that I'd need some help.
Go ahead and tag away, you can browse them either way and if we need to improve the tagging somehow, let me know or give me some examples and we can make it so!
When I'm writing a submission, I open a new window to look at existing freetext. It would be really nice if context-sensitive freetext suggestions were provided. Maybe a button by the freetext: "Suggest some freetext" that populates the freetext field? -

#16By the way, it is incredibly difficult to write large nested lists on this forum. Here is my solution when you want to enter a sublist:
Click at the end of a list item ("li") but before the closing tag ("/li") in code view.
Click the Insert List.
Toggle back to display view to type.
Repeat as needed.

#19That's 5 down and 190 to go. We are 1/39th of the way there, and it only took about 3 weeks! At this rate, we will have filled all of the emptiness by August 15th, 2014.
Scrasamax is currently the champion of appeasing the upset barbarian horde. -

#21Under Society, Ethnic/Culutral with Local influence, there is now the Sisters of Magul. I don't know how to add links in the forum but it can be found if you click on the I am Helping link on the main page and it is one of the submissions under No Comments. -

That sub was written in 2009. How did you hide it until now? Well at least it helps appease the upset Barbarian Horde, so it works for me. -

#23It was basically a sub that has been started and then stagnating in my In-work Private for years and I only recently turned it into a stub. Actually, I put it under Ethnic/cultural and having Area influence when I first put it out in stub format but then I was thinking abt it one day last week and realised it actually fits in better under the Local influence instead. -

Also, to everyone who is following this post, I must apologize. I had miscounted my list. There were originally 196 subs needed, and I reported only 195. I didn't miss anything; I just forgot how to count. I'm actually quite good at math. My current favorite pickup line is, "I wish I was your derivative so I could be tangent to those curves." -

#30The list is back up to date. I was MIA for a few weeks there while I added the newest member to the ranks of the Barbarian Horde. My first child, Jenna Nicole, was born on September 18 and in perfect health. But now I'm back.
Strolen, because I am too lazy to post in the bug reports, will you take a look at Riddlerock? It is obviously a location, but it claims that it is an article. Perhaps this is a glitch with the ability to modify a submission category? -

Clever. However, while Riddlerock clearly shows up in articles, it also shows up in locations/Area. The Barbarian Horde never even thought to be upset at this combination not existing.

Your assistance is appreciated. I have been updating the first post in this thread, keeping track of every empty combination, and logging the contributions of each Strolenite to the appeasement of the horde. So bookmark page 1 of this thread to stay updated. Unfortunately, there are no notifications when I modify that post, so I will occasionally remind everyone of who is the greatest Barbarian Horde Appeaser in the Citadel. -

I am a very sick little boy. My mother is typing this for me, because I can't. She is crying. Don't cry, Mommy! Mommy is always sad, but she says it's not my fault. I asked her if it was God's fault, but she didn't answer, and only started crying harder, so I don't ask her that anymore. The reason she is so sad is that I'm so sick. I was born without a body. It doesn't hurt, except when I go to sleep.
The doctors gave me an artificial body. My body is a burlap bag filled with leaves. The doctors said that was the best they could do on account of us havin' no money or insurance. I would like to have a body transplant, but we need more money. Mommy doesn't work because she said employers don't hire crying people. I said, "Don't cry, Mommy," and she hugged my burlap body. Mommy always gives me hugs, even though she's allergic to burlap, and it chafes her real bad.
I hope you will help me. You can help me if you forward this e-mail. Dr. Johansen said if you foward this e-mail then Bill Gates will team up with AOL and do a survey with NASA. Then the astronauts will collect prayers from school children all over America and take them up to space so that the angels can hear them better. #40I just added a Systems - Agriculture/Husbandry - General: 30 Things That Grow in a Dwarven Beard Didn't want the Barbarian Horde to feel like we don't know how to farm 'n stuff.
