#86oh...I feel like some Irish folksong! ((run while you can!)) -
Nashira's Natter
#87=wips out guitar=
spoken:
Sad are the homes 'round Garryowen
Since lost their giant pride.
And the banshee cry links every vale
Around the Shannon side
That city of the ancient walls
The broken Treaty Stone,
undying fame surrounds your name -
Sean South of Garryowen.
song starts:
'Twas on a dreary New Year's Eve
As the shades of night came down
A lorry load of volunteers approached a border town
There were men from Dublin and from Cork
Fermanagh and Tyrone (And Tyrone!!)
But the leader was a Limerick man -
Sean South from Garryowen.
And as they moved along the street
Up to the barracks door
They scorned the danger they might meet
Their fate that lay in store
They were fighting for old Ireland's cause
To claim their very own
And the foremost of that gallant band
Was South of Garryowen.
But the sergeant spoiled their daring plan
He spied them through the door
The Sten guns and the rifles
A hail of death did pour
And when that awful night was passed
Two men lay cold as stone
There was one from near the border
And one from Garryowen
No more he will hear the seagull's cry
O'er the murmuring Shannon tide
For he fell beneath a northern sky
Brave Hanlon by his side
They have gone to join that gallant band
Of Plunkett, Pearse, and Tone
A martyr for old Ireland
Sean South from Garryowen -

Nashira's Natter
#109"Awe man." Strom retreats back to his seat disappointed that his torch of everlasting fire has been snuffed out.
Staring at the object, he begins to drink the rest of his ale. -
Nashira's Natter
#110obviously the everlasting fire wasnt very everlasting! -
Nashira's Natter
#111Only insanity is everlasting. -
Nashira's Natter
#112and human stupidity! -
Nashira's Natter
#113Insanity dies with the brain. Human stupidity will die when we are no more. -
Nashira's Natter
#114Very true. -
Nashira's Natter
#115I don't believe so. I think that human stupidity has had such a vast impact on this universe that even after we are gone there will always be a lasting trace. We have already almost finished destroying our atmosphere, and what do you think will happen when our technolodgy (sp?) advances even further? We will stop at nothing unti; we have destroyed the entire universe. -
Nashira's Natter
#116Actually, the most damaging resource used on this world is the ocean. It creates 70% of all green house gases that fill the atmosphere. There are even trees that create these gases; Atlanta, Georgia is surrounded by them.
As far as the holes in the atmosphere, they have found that these holes open and close on a regular basis. It seems the atmosphere was created to react this way so that we did not suffocate from the gases the world naturally generates. -
Nashira's Natter
#117That doesn't destroy the case for conservation, however! Every day, we're destroying more and more rainforest! Species are going extinct by the dozen! -
Nashira's Natter
#118In some countries, yes. Like the Philippines, where rainforests were decimated without being replaced.
In america we have laws in place where logging companies are to replant after taking-out trees. In fact, we have a larger tree population today, than there was at the turn of the twentieth century. -
Nashira's Natter
#119That doesn't ease my environmentalist rage! -
Nashira's Natter
#120No need to be angry; it accomplishes nothing. Simply identify an organization that supports what you want, and support them.
