#1We couldn't afford Billy Crystal as MC this year, and Mathom was unavailable, so handing out the statuettes falls to yours truly. We will commence with the award presentation festivities this weekend. If anyone has any fascinating, quirky, or MUST-HAVE award ideas (that you felt were missing from last year's ceremonies), please let me know asap in this thread. I'm still debating, for example, if we should have some polls for a few award categories, where everyone can vote a winner. Not sure.

As the last of ourtalented nominees proceed from the red carpet to their respective seats, the lights dim, some cheesy music begins playing softly, and the curtain is swept back on the 2011 MURO AWARDS!!
A truly one-of-a-kind honor, the winners of these make-believe statuettes should know that their efforts and ideas are acknowledged and appreciated by their peers! Long live the Citadel!
We begin. Lets dive right in, just like at the Oscars, there is no rhyme or reason a to why the first award is handed out first.
Tonight's first award goes to a grizzled citadel veteran, a sometimes cantankerous, often prodigious, and at times brilliant, Strolenite. The Best System of 2011 Award goes to none other than, Mourngrymn for Constellation Myth
Speech, Mourn! Speech!!
Tonight's second award, on the other hand, goes to an often mysterious producer of wonderfully offbeat ideas. An all-arounder, who we are glad to count among our ranks. You may now refer to him, as the winner of the Best Society of 2011 Award. I give you, MysticMoon for The Undead Knights of Knonii!!!!
Take a bow sir, you've earned it!!
And i might add, both gentlemen are first time Award winners, so lets hear it for them both!!

There is little I can say that will encompass the scope of how I feel right now. The grand excitement, the thrill of being up here in front of my fans. Yes all four of you.

Thank you, thank you, you flattery me. Really. This delves into my thoughts of last years awards and how wonderful it would have been nominated for such a grand award as this.
Crowd: You should've got Oscar!
Well, you know. It's...just to be nominated...
Crowd: You were nominated?
No, no, no. I wasn't nominated. I'm just saying that to have been nominated would have been nice. It's just...it's very political. You have to take out ads...
Crowd: Shut up now! Get off the stage...
Ahem. Unaccustomed as I am to public speaking, I found myself resorting to posting a request for suggestions from a bunch of idiots on an internet message board. The responses were ... interesting, to say the least. Now, since I don't feel up to performing an impersonation of Gollum, Bjork, Paul Whitehouse or Chris Morris, all I can do is thank the team at the Muro Awards for deciding that I was to be the recipient of this grand award, and get off the stage with my dignity intact. Thank you very much. -

His overall message was the same as the rest of us, however....

Here comes another award. This award seems timely, as we currently have a Quest going on, and not a single sub to show for it :dunno:
Strolenites and Citadelians, I urge you to take example from this evenings winners of the 2011 Most Quest Submissions Award!
These two gentlemen seize the proverbial bull by the horns, whenever a Quest arises, and make hamburger patties out of it!
Without further ado...ok some more ado first---ado, ado, ado---I present the winners. Yes winners with an S. We have a tie for most Quest submissions for 2011. Pieh and Dossta, take your bows!! 12 entries apiece! With an honorable mention to ChekaMan with 11 for the year!

Yeah. I did.
I can't rightly say I remember much of 2011. I'm bad with things like time and distance so its not much of a surprise that there are few events in my memory that I designate as occurring during 2011. Seems like it must have been a good year.

#102011 was truly a blur, so I was honestly surprised that I managed to post as much as I did. Pieh -- I couldn't have said it better. Thanks to Muro and the Citadel for recognizing the efforts of these two excellent gentlemen beside me, and for throwing an award my way as well. May the 2012 quests be as thought-provoking as those that came before.
Also, congrats to Mourn and Mystic for their respective "Best of" submissions. *cue round of applause* -

Today we are handing out 3 awards to one person. Amazing as it may sound, this treasured strolenite managed to come up with the #1 article, location, and lifeform for 2011!

"Indeed 2011 was a year to remember, many of my subs to be honest wouldn't have seen the light of day however if not for the inspiration of many good friends within the citadel, and the enjoyment of sharing my ideas with like minded Strolenites who are truly the nuts and bolts that hold the citadel together."
*Raising the glass forth she gestures to the crowd with a warm smile, her eys glittering with happiness, and just a touch of brandy* "A toast, to the fires of imagination, may they burn in the minds of the citadels inhabitants for all time!"

#14Two awards this evening.
Our first award winner caused quite the stir during last year's extravaganza, hustling blue midgets on stage to accept his statuette, backed by some eerie and hauntingly awful music. What will he do this year? We don't know, but security is on high-alert.
The award for Best Dungeon of 2011, goes to none other than the Three-Named-One, the Lurker from the North, the Eternal Slayer of Jotnes, yes its none other than,
Michael Jotne Slayer!!!!
for The Keep Beneath the Dusky Star (little known fact: this sub was once named, 'Keep on Howling Mountain', but the mountain wouldn't keep on howling, so...)

Our second award winner needs little introduction. The only real mystery is, what the heck happened to him in 2010? :P (no awards! slow year)
The Strolenite I like to call "The Mechanic", returned in force in 2011 however, much to our delight!
So many subs, so little time! But one particular submission really stood out it seems (as deemed by YOU, the Citadelians)

#15This is a special night for me, I'd first of all like to thank the members of the Citadel for the support and excitement they showed for Romero. Romero was for me a work from the heart, a labor that was as much a cathartic experience as well as a creative birth. I would not be here if it wasn't for a good friend of mine in Kentucky who introduced me to that peculiar Internet creation Slenderman. Inspired by this somewhat silly meme I delved into the darker parts of my imagination to bring out Mr. Coultier.
The music begins as the man called the Mechanic, wearing a smart gray suit and silk tie with cog work patterns gives a bow and a wave to the audience.

#16We now come to the beloved Newbie of the Year award for 2011. The joy of seeing a new member register is one thing. But the joy of seeing said new member stick around, post, comment, and generally participate and hang-around is a cause for celebration!!

I cannot adequately express my gratitudes to the denizens of the citadel, fellow travellers on the path of creativity, brothers and sisters all, I thank you for your inspiration and ever-warm welcome, no matter how far I stray from the path of the artist.
You've been a rock for all these years, a source of light-filled joy, sweet sorrow, and endless mirth; whichever I needed the most. How could I forget these moments? My first handshake with Cthulhu, the first time I was bitten by a llama, or having all my magical books eaten by Niyotts.

Hobbling over to the microphone the disheveled writer grabs hold to either side of the podium for support. Blinking she holds a hand over her eyes to shield from the lights.
