Proposal: Removal of 'Meta' item category
#1After years of submissions, we have yet to have a single entry within the 'Meta' items category. As was mentioned in another thread, pretty much the entirety of this category is subsumed by other, less genre-specific categories. I therefore propose that we remove the category as useless clutter. -

#4Instead of removing it, how about we try submitting a entry for it? I mean, give people an idea or example of an item that could fit this category.
If not, then perhaps using a different definition to describe the Meta category other then relating it to superheroes. Like something outside this realm of existence. -
Re: Proposal: Removal of 'Meta' item category
#5I don't see why we need to keep around something that can be easily mapped to other categories. Would you ever search for a 'meta' item? If so, what were you expecting when you did?
Frankly, I would prefer eliminating the categories entirely and use tags/freetext only. -

Frankly, I would prefer eliminating the categories entirely and use tags/freetext only.
An interesting idea, with some merit, but the categories do provide some general guidelines for submission content. If I'm looking for an interesting location, unless we make a 'location' freetext, and somehow require that it be added to a submission fitting said criteria, I may never find all the entries I'm looking for. In the end, I view categories as required freetext, that helps organize the broad landscape of submissions.
