Muro Awards

1. Muro Awards

Ok, here's what we have (So far)

Thought: Since I’m not actually going to buy any statuettes or 40+ t-shirts, how about Muro winners can “cash in” their trophies/achievement awards, for XP or some other such site perks. The XP awards would vary. Sub-of-Year may perhaps equate to a few more than the winner of Most Subs used in a Freetext award, for example.  :)

The Missing-In-Action-Swallowed-by-Cthulhu Award of the year once again (pretend there have been past Muro Awards) goes to Captain Penguin. Like Marlon Brando in 1976, the captain will not be joining us this evening and has instead sent a representative to collect his statuette.  Let us give a warm welcoming applause as it slithers onstage.

The Newbie-of-the-Year Award needs no introduction. But I will give it one anyway. This award is not based on popularity, good looks, votes, or any other kind of subjective criteria. It is simply based on amount of activity since joining (in 2010). This year the Muro goes to Dossta/MysticMoon/? /?/? (Research needed here)

Sub-of-the-Year Award on the other hand is as subjective as it gets. It is based on a combination of highest voted AND number of comments AND submission views AND HoH’s AND Golden votes.

Quest Finalists and Quest Winners Award is straightforward and unambiguous. Congratulations to all the participants of 2010 Quests and a hearty round of applause for the winners.

Sub-Category: Most Quest Subs overall (2010) Award! Self-explanatory. This goes to a prolific Questor!

Forum Thread of the Year Award Another self-explanatory award. Most popular by replies and views.

Best Strolen.com Site-to-Site Collaboration Award goes to JohnFourr, over at Roleplayingtips.com, for introducing us to the magical format of the 5-Room Dungeon. Also, a few of our submissions have been featured in his monthly GM Advice isues. Thanks JohnFourr! Take a bow.

The Dark-Lord Supplicant of the Year Award. There has to be one somewhere.

Longest Comment to Shortest Post Award.

The Comeback Strolenite of the Year Award. This one goes to someone that was gone for a while, and then returned in force. I hereby present the 2010 Muro to Silveressa (?)

Best New Site Feature 2010 Award. The nominees, in no particular order are 1. Strolen for…2. Strolen for…

Longest, most genuine, and most well thought out comment that was so long it was removed and sent as a PM instead Award goes to Axlerowes  (Will feature it with a spoiler tag?)

Best Zombie Post Award, because there has to be one every year.

Most Freetext used in a Sub Award.

Best Use of Art in a Submission Award

Best Use of Music in a Submission Award

Most Subs used in a Freetext Award. Goes to no one (Just seeing if everyone is still paying attention)

   Most Submissioner of Submissions Award

   Most Commentiest of Commentators Award

Sub Title of the Year Award. A tie between the “unpronounceable one” and “the weirdest one” (Research needed here)

Most Upvoted Comment Award goes to: TBD by script.

Most Time Spent Online Without Being Online Award, goes again (Everyone needs to keep pretending that there have been past Muro awards, as we continue with this ceremony) to the undisputed champion, Ria Hawk!

The Best MoonHunter Tips Year Award: 2004? 2005? 2006? 2007? (poll vote)

   Most Flamed Post Award

Most XP on a single sub Award. Hint: Whichever sub this is, it probably has a 5 rating, Quest Winning Status, many comments that say, “Wow, I love it”, a handful of HoH’s, and a gaggle of Goldens.

(Strolen, I just realized that this can also be the exact criteria for Sub of the Year Award. So maybe, to have no bad feelings among anyone, we can award it simply to the sub with the most XP for 2010. What say you?)

Longest Comment to Shortest Thread Award (Yes, there is one of these too)

Best Use of an Animal in a Sub Award. TBD by Script? (I hope and pray)

Sub-Category: Best Use of a Flying Animal in a Sub Award (hamster cannon, croc-a-pult, etc…)

Best Dark Elf Assassin Submission Award goes to that special someone (Have to find one)

Most 5’s, HoH’s, and Goldens Dispensed Award goes to Cheka Man for an unprecedented 17th year in a row. Take a bow, Cheka, you have earned it. Better yet, take a HoH!

   In work obviously.

Tell me if you need more. Sub of the Year is sorted by XP, figured that was a good start. That will include quest winner XP too.

We could do Item of the Year, Plot of the Year etc if you want. Super easy to add those variables to the first set of data....

4. Re: Muro Awards

   That is it for now.

The long thread and comment one is going to be hard and very memory intensive. Have to do word counts for every sub and compare them to every comment made on each. A little involved and getting silly tonight so time to crash. I think we have a good start. See if I missed anything that seem like counting or comparing.

   Go Strolen, go! Thanks!!

Great idea, why didn't i think of that. Yes, that would be great, and would get more random people winning awards that way.

   *drinks a toast to scripts*

Sweetness. Have been doing long days this week with many night time work functions. Going to Aviano this weekend so won't be around. Should stabilize a little next week and can knock some more out. I, unfortunately, don't see me doing much on it till Tues/Weds next week. :(

Top of each category - check.
   Most quest subs - check.
   Most comments - check.
Most votes - just cause I could.
   Comment Upvote - check.

The longest comment to a sub will be crazy and don't have time right now. Might wash that one away. Maybe they won't notice.

Woooo! (BTW, top of each category awards idea rocks!!)

the good news is I saved the longest comment ever to a sub in my inbox  :D  Its a doozy.

If you give me until April 1st (Friday) I will be able to start posting this stuff for all to see, including 3-4 poll votes!!

And thanks for all the scripts!!

I wish there were 33 hours in every day. Crazy few weeks, but by Friday night, I should be on computer and calm (well, calm for me )

Outstanding. Delay as needed but April 1st for the first set would be good. Doesn't have to be a ton, just enough to rejuvenate it and then release as you have time.

Thanks for making these Awards possible. I think they are an absolutely awesome idea and a new yearly addition to the citadel!

Muro Awards to begin leaking tonite...leaking? hmmm, oozing. Yeah, oozing.

From the deep. Was hoping there was a clue on how we figured out newbie.

I can't find anything anywhere in any of my scripts.

Hard for me to do a mind shift to work on that. Busy on other logic issues at the moment.

What would be your criteria...simple criteria.

Most submissions? Most comments? Most XP?

14. Re: Muro Awards

    #14

Most subs i guess, it would come down to. Been looking around, i *think* it's Gossamer. Not a 100% sure.

15. Re: Muro Awards

Wouldn't total XP earned give the most overall picture?

16. Re: Muro Awards

    #16

    Sure, ok. :)

17. Re: Muro Awards

Unless proven wrong, i'm assuming it's Gossamer :)

Strolen - didn't we have a listing of all of the authors somewhere in the main citadel?  Something we could order by data/xp? The forum member list does not include  main site activities for the most part.

Updated the script with a newbie. Top 10 by sub count and has their XP there just for double checking.

    Goss without a doubt!
