stub promoted to sub and count of submission does not change
#1I recently promoted a stub to a normal sub and the total count of my submissions on my profile page does not seem to reflect this. -
Re: stub promoted to sub and count of submission does not change
#2If you create a sub and select it as hidden it will still counted as a part your total sub count, but it will not affect your stats, other than the 5exp you get for creating a sub. I think the same goes for the stubs, when you created the sub, you boosted your sub count by one. When you promoted it to a sub, your post count did not change, but your stats did.
By stats I dont mean your total XP count. You also need a certain amount of published posts along with a certain number of Exp to be promoted.

Re: stub promoted to sub and count of submission does not change
#3MJS speaks wisely of Citadel lore.
The major difference in a Stub, I believe, is the lack of the ability to vote on it and get those additional (or get negative) XP. Stub allows these useful but odd sized submissions a place without getting battered by low votes. Now that it is full it is able to reap the voting XP. -
Re: stub promoted to sub and count of submission does not change
#4Actually, I checked my profile page again and now the count of submissions is correct so it must be that the time when I changed the piece from stub to sub falls before the timing for the daily updating of the profile page. But thanks for the clarifications.
P.S. Also realised my choice of wording was very misleading but anyway, issue sorted (well, actually no issue in the 1st place). -
Re: stub promoted to sub and count of submission does not change
#5I knew I was brilliant, just not how much so. I made a note to myself to double check the process for that since you might be the first documented encounter with such an event. I am glad it all got fixed up. I still want to double check the XP awards for it before and after in the code to ensure you (and those in the future) get full credit.
Thanks for talking through the upgrade. Often I don't get to here about things in real life so just assume they work.
