The Citadel and Social Media
#1So I found this fancy tutorial that allows for automatic twitter updates.
Question is, would anybody use it and what updates would you want to see posted there? Submissions, comments, votes....
The other suggestion was to make the Strolenati Group actually useful. I think the Strolenati group is fine but we could create a Strolen's Citadel Facebook page instead. The pages allow updates to go into your news feed whereas the group doesn't. I don't even know how to get an update from a group except looking at it.
I will create the Citadel Fan page over the next week. Just need to figure out, again, what we want posted to it. As it is a tiny bit labor intensive, my initial thought was to setup a schedule where different members could have a day of the week where they can update it with whatever they wish.
Strolen's Citadel Fan Page will be submission updates and announcements.
Strolanti Group is discussion to take over the world and general camaraderie.
Then back to twitter. Twitter is very simple to update from the Strolen's Citadel Fan Page. Do you want Twitter to have more updates of action happening (comments, votes, submissions, updates etc) or just mirror the updates that happen on the Fan Page? -
Re: The Citadel and Social Media
#2The thing that comes to mind to me is what my company actually does. We have a facebook page (which I can't interact with, since I'm still taking the Facebook Challenge...), a twitter feed, and multiple blogs (a developers blog, and a CMS-oriented blog). I'd possibly suggest using the page not necessarily for updates (though that's certainly a good usage of it), but for broader table-top information. Possibly examples of how a particular submission could be used, or news on up and coming game systems, that sort of thing.
*shrug* Just throwing ideas out there. I know I certainly don't have time to do anything with said pages. -
Re: The Citadel and Social Media
#3That would mean I would have to know more of what is going on outside the page. I can barely keep up with it as it is. :)
Not against any of that though if people want to add stuff to it. If we have a dozen people posting updates on it then we would probably have a pretty diverse amount of updates that could happen. -

#4Page is up. Let us see where the experiment will go.
