Based on current events, Riv is going to need to change plans - with Steel's getup, there is no way in hell DD'd plan is going to work.  What does he have that will let him ambush someone in power armor? :)

I just need to get close, and an inch of exposed skin, and he's toast. He'll barely have time to notice he's being assassinated. Substitution is something else though.

If I understand the plan properly, the idea is that we go down and slaughter some defenceless innocents, and then the survivors go back to the ship for more partying. I'm guessing that the weapons that we'll be using on said innocents are kindly provided by steel?

The way I see it, our best bet is to take him either in flight or on the ground, and then steal his dropship ID codes (Curie!) to allow us to pretend that the downed shuttle is someone else's. Or, we remove him on the ground in the chaos, and then either steal his dropship to get back up, or swap the codes with ours. Either way, everybody thinks that a few insignificant guests have died, and that Steel is safe.

AG, Steel has a security detail with him at all times. Their attention is on Steel and the other guests, not so much on each other. How easy would it be to take one of his guards out and steal his uniform? Right. Now. Before the dropships are fully loaded?

The Truth of steel also makes for a great target, with all the attention on the ground, it would be easier to sabotage it. (We could even envisage getting it to shoot Steel out of the sky on the way back up.)

Also: What can I tell about Steel's power armor? Is it state of the art like I expect?

The "Atlantean Harvester Rods" that are being issued, arm long scepters of steel, provide six rounds of .38 caliber fire (1d10 damage) and a powerful taser functionality (POTency 20 vs CON per hit)

Well, the tricky part would be not being revealed as you took him out. Right now people are crowding together, moving down the stairs, through  a narrow corridor and then climbing the rungs through the hatches on the floor and into the dropships where they are buckling in.

You'd have to surround a guard, then hide him as you took him out. And where would you put the body?

With the guardian of Steel blocking Curie you need to physically turn off the light or something. Then coordinate your efforts in the dark.

    My 2 cents?

    Very low chance of success.

Steel's Power armor shows some dents and scratches, but seems otherwise in perfect working order. The Reptilian mask is a true marvel of engineering though. You have never seen anything like it.

The Power Armor could probably withstand a several 50 round magazines of SMG fire aimed at one location. It provides a tremendous strength boost, making Steel a lethal adversary even when not armed with anything but his fists.

You misunderstand my intentions. Is the armour equipped with a networked computer to regulate the suit's thermal equilibrium, hydraulics, adaptive armour, etc... Often, the solution lies within the problem. While a power armour stops us getting to him physically, it also entraps him within it. If subverted, we have him by the balls.

Like I said in the post: Yes, it is networked, but no, it is the helmet that provides the networking. He does not use the helmet, instead he wears a strange snake mask.

The mask is an unknown. It might be armored, and it might not. Whatever it is, it is well made.

Like I told valadaar in a pm:
Steel is surrounded by guards and guests. Several guests seem to be guarding him as well, notably three nude girls with venetian carnival masks and a morbidly obese man with a lion mask.

It seems possible to elbow your way through the crowd and get a seat or two in Steel's dropship.

    I need two dice rolls:

Valadaar needs to make a luck roll (1d100)

Either Echo or Dark_dragon (whoever is first) also needs to make a luck roll (1d100).

    Make the roll here.

    Hey guys

    Hope you are having fun.

If anyone among you are easily offended, (well then you are probably in the wrong game :p) do say so.

The game is, obviously, not very moral nor very child friendly.

Just holler out here if that troubles you (the game's lack of morality that is)

To be honest: I am probably not gonna change the game, but if you feel stuck in something revolting you better speak out. ;)

The reason I ask is because once, some years ago, one of my players quit a game I was running out of personal reasons (he had some qualms about the game content).
I do realize that masked rapist carnival-goers can offend the easily offended. ;)

Me? I am enjoying BW tremendously, and feel giddy and enthusiastic right now. I wanna roll them dice and GM this game! ;)

    Great! Keep 'em coming.

Look at valadaar. He sometimes post one liners, but that is fine. It keeps the game running.

Let me worry about the long posts. ;)

Really, AG, we hadn't realised, you know.

What is worrying is that the more depraved BW gets, the more gleeful you become.  :D

I have job hunting and interviews coming up, and will be traipsing over the country, so my posting may not be up to my usual standard.  Feel free to take over Mason as needed AG.

To quote ShadowEagle, a former Strolenite: Be very afraid! ;)

Seriously, it is dark post apoc.

But, for all its gore and depravity, the wastelands actually has some kind people too. Too bad you guys are so evil, they'd probably be slaughtered had you met them. :P

Hell NO! I'd rather keep you posting at a random interval!

Besides, nothing is more boring than posting and replying to myself! ;)

Oh man, I just got the job, Will be starting on Thursday. I don't yet know where I'll be staying, and whether I will have internet there, so my posting rate may be fairly limited or even non-existent.

I'll try my best AG, but I can't guarantee anything. Sorry guys.

    CONGRATS!

Are you at liberty to tell us what kind of job you got?
  29. Re: Bleak Wood Episode 3 OOC

    #149
    Murometz is on a vacation
    EchoMirage is in Amsterdam
dark_dragon is beginning in a new IT job (and knowing the business will be worked hard in days and months to come)
Ancient Gamers vacation begins in two days

So I put the game on hold, and there's a cliffhanger to boot!

Roleplaying suits autumn / fall, so I will be back then and we'll see what happens!

One note: I LOVE IT when you guys really put your will into it. Gaming with you guys when you (and me) are our best, well, it is bloody awesome.

The game kinda slowed down, but with everyone getting busy with RL it was inevitable.

If you guys are willing we will pick this game up again in some months and then... ROCK AND ROLL!

Thanks AG! I'm programming for a group at the University of Reading for a few months. I'm doing some stuff for Intelligent environments and the like. I just had my first day and It sounds pretty cool.

Anyway, enjoy all your vacations everyone!
