   Is there any kind of thing to set up a list of people to watch for when you're online? It would be handy to be able to see people you're looking for online at the same time as you. That way, you could all head up to a chat or something.

   There is currently the online list at the bottom of the main forum (as you obviously know) but I can figure out how to put that on the main pages as well if there is enough want for it.
   
   Maybe put a list of those online at the bottom of the page or something.
   
   Not sure about putting them on every page in the forums, but can look at that too. Whatever you all decide. If it is a yes I will do a look into it and see how quickly/easily I can get it done.
   
   2nd week of July I should have free time for at least a month so should get some stuff done on the site.

   I was thinking of more along the lines of a pop-up window similar to the private message alert, only keyed to display when people you're watching for come online. Kinda like a way to let people know when they want to chat with someone that that person is online. Like there are 3 admins on right now, and only one of them ... hmm, who could that be? ... in the chat room.

   A pop-up. Then how often will it attack you? You can't have it set as a one time thing, then if anybody new comes on the you will miss them. Don't want it popping up every time you open a page just to show you online either, at least I wouldn't.
   
   It shows you online even if you are browsing the main Citadel so they have no clue who is on the forums unless they go and look. I know I don't sometimes.
   
   So the besides being beat by pop-ups, the only high vis idea I had was to make the online people more obvious and in more places.
   
   Once that is accomplished I can put that chat announcement next to the list of online as well to maybe better show that.
   
   I think it is more of a personal mindset to check the chat and check who is online. Most of the time recently I only have enough time to jump on and jump off and miss the fact that somebody is in there.

   are you talking about somthing like msn? where you see the persons mouse? cuz that could be an easy fix.

   There is a modification that puts the users online/offline status in the post area. Like where the HP/MP stats are, but a line of text saying online or something like that.

   It would be nice to see if someone is online as you are scrolling down and see one of their posts. Nice, but not a feature I would bump other things out of the cue for, IMO

   Things like that one only take 5 minutes because there are step by step instructions. I probably should have mentioned that. Most of the mods only take minutes to follow the directions and upload.
   
   The stuff that I have to figure out on my own is what takes so long. It is such a process that if I don't do it in one sitting I basically have to start over the next time to follow the logic through all the different pages and databases.
