Quoth the Raven "Nevermore"
#1I quite like the poem The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe (a copy of which may be found at http://www.heise.de/ix/raven/Literature/Lore/TheRaven.html). So, for my own enjoyment, I have rewritten it in script format. Although I am not exactly sure of the formatting and abbreviations that I used (I know what they mean, but I'm not sure if they are the official terms). So, anyway, here it is (posted by scene).
The Raven
By Edgar Allen Poe
Script by Drackler
Scene 1. Int. Library-Edgar's House. Night. 12.00 PM
EDGAR SITS AT A TABLE. HE IS HUNCHED OVER SOME OLD-LOOKING BOOKS, ALMOST FALLING ASLEEP. SUDDENLY, THERE IS A RAPPING SOUND. EDGAR IS STARTLED AWAKE BY THE SOUND BUT QUICKLY CALMS DOWN.
EDGAR:
'Tis some visitor tapping at my chamber door. Only this and nothing more.

#3Scene 3. Int. Library-Edgar's House. Night. 12.02 PM
EDGAR SITS LOOKING INTO THE FLICKERING FIRE.
EDGAR:
And each separate dying ember writes its ghost upon the floor. Eagerly I wish the morrow; vainly I had sought to borrow from my books.
EDGAR LAYS HIS HAND ON THE PILE OF BOOKS IN FRONT OF HIM.
EDGAR:
Surcease of sorrow; sorrow for the lost Lenore.

For the rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name Lenore. Nameless here for evermore.

#5Scene 5. Int. Library-Edgar's House. Night. 12.05 PM
[EDGAR (VO)]
CLOSE UP OF A WINDOW FRAMED BY PURPLE CURTAINS.
EDGAR:
And the sad, uncertain rustling of each purple curtain thrills me fills me with fantastic terrors never felt before. So that now, to still the beating of my heart, I stand repeating.

#6Scene 6. Int. Library-Edgar's House. Night. 12.06 PM
EDGAR STANDS AND FACES THE DOOR
EDGAR:
Tis some visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door; some late visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door. This it is and nothing more.
EDGAR STEELS HIMSELF.
EDGAR:
Sir or Madam, truly your forgiveness I implore. But the fact is I was napping, and so gently you came rapping, and so faintly you came tapping, tapping at my chamber door, that I scarce was sure I heard you.
EDGAR STEPS FORWARD AND OPENS THE DOOR. WE SEE THAT THERE IS NOTHING ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DOOR BUT DARKNESS. BEAT.
EDGAR:
Lenore.
BEAT. EDGAR TURNS BACK TO THE ROOM LOOKING TROUBLED AND CLOSES THE DOOR. AGAIN THERE IS A RAPPING SOUND, A LITTLE LOUDER THAN BEFORE.
EDGAR:
Surely. Surely that is something at my window lattice. Let me see then what thereat is and this mystery explore. Let my heart be still a moment and this mystery explore. Tis the wind and nothing more.
EDGAR OPENS THE WINDOW.
