Question on cutting and pasting....
#1So I was wondering, if you cut and paste, you sometimes get some odd characters in your piece. You get different characters from different sources.
I am looking at rn (which could be a return or ") and mmm which I think is a return (or two). If memory serves, this occurs when you cut and paste from websites. Am I right in this, or confused as this occurs from word? -
Re: Question on cutting and pasting....
#2In DOS/Windows is the 'return' a combination of two characters, the carriage return and newline, typically displayed with slashes - /r/n. If things get really screwed up, you might get them in those characters.
BUT...
There is a known defect in the Citadel, wherein, if all fields are not filled out at the beginning, you will be warned, and allowed to complete the sub... and all the returns are converted to these annoying rn's. Guaranteed to spoil a day.
