Stopping in for a look around...

1. Stopping in for a look around...

   #1

Hi!  Just found this site linked from RPG Gateway and it looks pretty cool.  8)

I discovered the world of role-playing a couple years ago and I must say that my life hasn't quite been the same since!  My favorite role playing is LARPing.  I currently run a modern-day campaign along with my husband.  But I also like free-form online RPs and table-top games (though I've never run a table-top game).

I'm always on the lookout for new places to get ideas for games and this seems like it will be helpful!  Point me in the right direction to get started!

Welcome to our hallowed (hollowed?) halls, Silithsel!

I think you'll find a lot of cool stuff here. If free-form is your thing, check out the aptly named  "Free Form Roleplaying" archive under "Role-Playing" on the forums page.

For countless table-top ideas (and I suppose some LARP'ing ones as well  :P), check out the main site. Click on random stuff or specific categories.

Modern day, eh? I am a big fan of that genre as well.

Hmm, lets see, where else can we point you? Ummm, others will soon come and share their thoughts, and point you in so many directions, your head will spin.

   Welcome!!!!!

(If someone offers you chartreuse-colored donuts, decline politely.)

Thanks for the welcome, Murometz!  Modern is definitely great for gaming.  Inspiration and costumes come easy for a LARP, too.   Looking forward to getting some fantasy gaming in too though.

hmmm...  *looks around for anyone handing out chartreuse-colored donuts**

Ya hey der Silithsel. Glad your wanderings led you this way. Never LARPed myself but it sure looks like something I would be willing to try.

As far as directing you somewhere, it might be easier to start on a random/recent submission on the front page and allow yourself to get lost in the links. As you find stuff use the "Add to Favorites" to save it and keep going.

Either way, there is more than enough here to get ideas flowing in whatever genre you prefer.

Not so into LARPing myself, it really just seemed like too much work with very little creativity, but that may just be the people I was trying it with.

Pish. The chartreuse ones are relatively harmless. They just make you hallucinate vivid colors for a few hours. The ones you have to worry about are quite a bit more vibrantly hued. I like to be sure I can tell which are which even when hit with a fit of color-blindness, after all...

Ah, here they are.  Fresh as daisies!  We've just got the one chartreuse one, so savor it.

Wise, not to trust the dougnnuts, particularly when offered by those who aren't me.

Me, I have timeless extradimensional space filled with any form of doughnut you could imagine. The Box of Infinite Doughnuts connects to them. Grab one, it'll be whatever type you want.

Indeed. You'd be *amazed* what Soylent Green Doughnuts sell for on the open market.
