Freetext Fiesta!

Re: Freetext Fiesta!
#41well, I had a goblin-library idea stewing, and now a Massage one (non-lascivious...stop thinking of "massage" as cheap-sex parlors :P) but i dont think i should combine them.
Maybe these should be bi-weekly? tri-weekly? what do you think? It takes some of us a while to finish a sub, but I for one, liked the goblin-library-space idea very much, and am STILL working a few ideas out for it. -
Re: Freetext Fiesta!
#42Personally, I like this because it gives me ideas and sets a realistic challenge, all of which leads up to more submissions, which is good. I don't know if I could do three a week, although two might be reasonable.
But so as to please as many as possible, I redeclare this to be
MASSAGE AND GOLEM WEEK!
This week's theme is kneading and rubbing. Whether it's done to soothe aching muscles or turn clay into an unholy entity of destruction, it shall be the topic for the coming tenday! -

#44Timed Golem - http://www.strolen.com/content.php?node=4432
and a classic with the Golem Freetext - GGSG - http://www.strolen.com/content.php?node=370
Now... the Massage Freetext! -
Re: Freetext Fiesta!
#45I call a Golden Golem. Ive been working on it a few days during my limited free time. should be up this weekend -
Re: Freetext Fiesta!
#46I'm working on a Massage one. Should be uo tomorrow or the next day. -
Re: Freetext Fiesta!
#47Ditto! (except for your overly ambitious time-frame) :P -
Re: Freetext Fiesta!
#48Now, if somebody needs a tertiary freetext to focus on, there are also Random Encounters. You can easily post into one of the scrolls available. And if you find an environment that is particularly missing, you can add it (then of course, it is proper to post a few initial encounters to it).
One day, it will be nice to have at least 30 encounters for each of the scrolls, making them all useful for gaming - what do you say, people? -
Re: Freetext Fiesta!
#49Well, with Massage and Golem both having got responses, it's time for another of these.
So I presume this is Halloween Week.
Bring out your tales of the horrors of October 31st, because this week's Freetext is Halloween - unless somebody has a better one? -
Re: Freetext Fiesta!
#50I would suggest Horror, since that is much more precise (and the subs featuring the Halloween freetext so far don't really have much to do with it).
Horror! The horror! -
Re: Freetext Fiesta!
#51Sounds good to me. -
Re: Freetext Fiesta!
#52Apart from at least 10% of all subs on the site might qualify! :)
Perhaps a set of 'eligible' freetexts
Witch
Undead
.... -
Re: Freetext Fiesta!
#53Yeah, I've been thinking that Horror is a wee bit too encompassing. Maybe we could narrow that a bit? -
Re: Freetext Fiesta!
#54Not a shred of holiday spirit in the lot of you. :x -
Re: Freetext Fiesta!
#55Hey, I posted a Witch! Heh, maybe...

Re: Freetext Fiesta!
#56Alrighty!!!
So Pieh has done this submission,
The Smellbinders
http://www.strolen.com/content.php?node=4425
The Smellbinders, and it had some ideas in it I liked. I wrote three submissions that were actually inspired from it.
Slumgullion Bog
http://www.strolen.com/content.php?node=4454
Olfactomancy
http://www.strolen.com/content.php?node=4455
Wlatsoom Peak
http://www.strolen.com/content.php?node=4456
Now one of the things that inspired this burst of creativity was Pieh's novel freetext Smelly. There are currently 4 items with the Smelly Freetext, and I think it would nifty if we could get some more smelly locations, stinky people, and odiferous items to add into the smelly freetext. Any takers? -
Re: Freetext Fiesta!
#57Now, in case there is anyone looking for another theme of this week, we seem to have it already.
Though I have to say, the Smelly freetext still looks kinda funny. :) Is there any other way to call it, Smell or whatever? (So we can include perfume-related submissions, and the like.) -
Re: Freetext Fiesta!
#58One more aroma-infused sub coming tonight.
-
Re: Freetext Fiesta!
#59Very well, I'll work with Smelly. -
Re: Freetext Fiesta!
#60Manfred? Can you not be pleased with any freetext I suggest? Halloween didn't work and now Smelly doesnt either?
But to answer the question, I dont think smelly indicates a good or a bad scent, just the presence of a strong one. Stink just seems to be more interesting to describe than sweet. Perfume would certainly fall into the realm of smelly, one persons perfume is another persons eau de toilet-water -
Re: Freetext Fiesta!
#61After some more careful pondering and scientific analysis, I have decided that Smelly will do. :) -
Re: Freetext Fiesta!
#62Arise Fiestsa, Arise! I really liked thias idea and after talking with MoonHunter we agreed that a weekly theme wasn't a bad idea as long as it didnt create confusion freetexts that defeated the purpose of freetext. If you don't know the purpose of freetext, I suggest you ask Moon.
However, I think this thread is till a good place to post our ideas of what would have a good theme. So! I challenge you, Strolenites! Come up with some crazy themes each week to increase sub flow and stimulate the mind. I'll start: Musical Instruments, Fasionable Footwear, and Board Games are my suggestions for the week this coming week. UTILIZE! -
Re: Freetext Fiesta!
#63"Utensils" :D
