Uncle Bear
#1Well, this site isn't really centered on role-playing, and the organization is a little nebulous, but perhaps it's good enough. It has a lot of Cthulhu style info.
It is also an online store. Maybe it doesn't have enough info of itself, though, because a lot of it is links.

Uncle Bear is a classic site...
#2I am an Ursoid... an Uncle Regular. Unfortunately, the real Uncle Bear is no longer running the site/ brand. (He is on hiatus and working on other projects). This has happened a couple of times before with different people taking on the ID of UB. The current system op and web personality is not doing the bang up job we normally expect of the Uncle Bear Site. It is worthy of a "special award" for service to the community, but IMO is not currently worthy of an award on its current merits. -

#3Am just reading the speculations, of what might follow the destruction of the Death Star II over Endor (Star Wars). Oh my. :?

#5Hey, I have no problem with the Ewoks, I'm just accepting their fate, as outlined in the site Manfred provided.
I like their theme music though. And their language.

#6For those who have curiosity as to how things develop post-RotJ, I can point you to a MUSH that's currently close to a decade old. When it started, it was set two years post-Endor.
We've seen the DSIII, the Imps retake Coruscant, several more Jedi/Sith/Dark Jedi, although they're still relatively uncommon, the Hutt family's return to Nar Shadda, the corruption of the New Republic into a mocking image of the Old Republic's corrupt nature, and a great deal more. -
Back to topic....
#7Can we discuss what we think of Uncle Bear? -
Re: Ummm why
#8Why is that in this thread?
Umm, well, it is one of the articles linked from Uncle Bear's main page, and it sort of captured my attention (seems that not only mine).
Seems that Uncle Bear is heavy on linking of other pages' stuff... with credit and all, so not bad... still, original work I value more.
Even Free Cthulhu Props... hmmm... -

#10Looking at the current layout.
It is updated very well it seems, but I find it very difficult to find anything of importance. The links on the side are ads at the top, then some substance links that link to another page of which doesn't seem horrible helpful, then more sponsored (ad) links, then more links outside the site.
Seems mostly a link resevoir connected to a forum which is rpghost so not their own anyway.
Not my kind of site. Too much trouble to find anything when there is so much out there which is easier to find stuff.
