Prizes and competitions?
#1Have something to donate as a prize?
Could be some old gamebooks on your shelf, dice, unused paper cups....whatever.
It can be silly, serious, or just plain fun. Everybody likes to win something and strolen.com has a limited budget so any participation to come up with something would be greatly appreciated!
Oh, and what thoughts do you have for competitions to win these prizes?

Re: Prizes and competitions?
#3Would anyone be interested in robes (as pictured on the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Dungeon Masters Guide {ISBN # 0-935696-02-4}) as a prize?
disclaimer: One size fits most, available in green only. Limited availability (one of a kind item). Key may differ from pictured. Heavy oaken doors, treasure and undead minions not included -
Re: Prizes and competitions?
#4I may have a couple of surprises I know how to make... I'll have to think about it. I will keep them secret for right now. -
Re: Prizes and competitions?
#5Somebody is bound to enjoy the robes. Probably make a great costume and there are others that do the other cons where you dress up so I am certain they will be appreciated. Hell, if I won it I would get a mask and have a great Holloween costume for the rest of my years.
I think the robe would make a great prize and would probably be a lot of fun to goof off with during some games.
I very much appreciate the offer! -
Apology break: Confessions of the AG
#6Hey everyone!
I come here to beg forgiveness. I commented in this thread, spilling my mind of grown ups in robes and of strong ties to D&D. This came out differently than I had wanted, and I sincerely regret that.
So, in the spirit of all that is good and Citadellian, I have sent the offended party an apology.
So, here is my contribution to this thread:
If, and only if, I come to this great gathering I will celebrate the winner in my own special way! I will reward the winner of the "best RPG of the con" with no less than three half litres of beer at the Slaughtered Lamb Inn! (Provided we have played by then. If not there, then somewhere else... Eventually to be carried home by the winner if there is no opportunity). -
Re: Prizes and competitions?
#7Hey AG,
We could tell that you were just upset that he wouldn't throw in the undead minions and oaken doors... -
Re: Prizes and competitions?
#8Was it so easy to tell? :p -
Re: Prizes and competitions?
#9Hey - Those are not undead! They are various denizens of the City of Brass on the Elemental Plane of Fire!!!! :)
But it is a nice robe...
:)

Re: Prizes and competitions?
#10I'm not sure that it's worth much, but I'd be willing to pitch in a door prize of a movie trailer-ish thing I'm doing. It has a sci-fi bent to it, and might give everyone a good laugh.
As another option, it could be a gift to all Strolen-Con attendees (free of charge even). -
Re: Prizes and competitions?
#11That would be sweet! Indie-movies rock!
And is it scary that the main reference that I have to how people look is their avatar?
AG really makes me nervous as does valadaar, while Muro is arabianish, Chaosmark is a phantom, and Ria is a cuddly comic/pixel art character...just to tap those in this thread. We need to print out avatars on our nametags for the first day. -
Re: Prizes and competitions?
#12Arabianish??!!! The Bogatyrs just flipped in their graves.
hehe, I like the avatar on nametags idea. I already have a full-blown tee with mine..I guess I'll wear it. :P -

Re: Prizes and competitions?
#16I have a hollow book that was made by a very talented artist friend of mine from several years ago, but he has since gone up alaskan crab fishing and we lost touch. It's covered in something like leather, but I'm pretty sure its a synthetic material, and has the word "Treasure" raised from underside as well as a face on the cover. Let me know where to send it, by PM would be safest, and I'll mail it out.

Re: Prizes and competitions?
#17I have a couple of pink 20-siders for the most flamboyant gamers and alot of "Slayers Guide to..." books that a got for 75% off and wouldn't mind putting up as prizes. -
Re: Prizes and competitions?
#18We are getting a very eclectic selection of prizes. Almost like the Garage Sale From Hell, but not as painful. -
Re: Prizes and competitions?
#19I got a twenty pack of gamer bumper stickers from Jinx.com.
Thought they would be fun to give out somehow.
