   I got

   Could not connect to the database

   
   
   I got this message when I tried to quote (using the quote button) a message from the “Evil GM Tricks� thread.
   
   I tried three times and got the error each time, then I clicked the edit button and it worked so I canceled that and clicked the quote button again and it worked for me that time.

   The database was probably busy being re-written when you tried to quote from that post most likely In order to do this, the computer cuts off all access to the database while performing the action in order to keep data in the database from being corrupted.

   That is wierd to happen three times though. Once, maybe, but still rare. But three times. That is like lightning striking three times in a row on a life savor and turning it into a gummy bear.
   
   Doubt I will be able to duplicate it and will have to chalk it up user being a black knight with a streak of bad luck to pay him pack for some of his past deeds that finally puts the karma of the world back into balance.

   I doubt it was a record locking issue, since I could edit the post I was trying to quote.
   
   The three times may not be as weird as it seems. I clicked, got the error, clicked “back� and repeated the process stubbornly refusing to quit!!
   
   Eventually I did and that is when I tried to “edit� it and once I tried doing something else, besides quoting that is when everything worked as advertised.
