I'm naming a New Country in my campaign, I'm asking the strolen community 2vote.

The only limit on rpgs is the evil known as writers block.

Arggh! im quoting myself! (pktkz mgpkt iszsl! in old dwarven)

((Strolen: I edited the title because it drove me batty. Put it as first line in post))

Unless you plan on giving us a pronunciation key, none of them are very intuitive as far as how to actually say them. Two constonants together, makes it difficult to know what to do with it. The third might be familiar and useable but the other two... :?: The first one with Ie....no idea how you want that pronounced either since it goes either way.

If you plan on us wanting to know what it sounds like....bad.
If you plan on us just needed to recognize it...ok.

Give us more info as to what the country is. Depending on the language of the nation, none of the names might be suitable. What is the culture like?
Also, as Strolen, said, what do they sound like?

None of the names seem very similar... In fact, they look like they were made from a random letter generator.

Yeah, the culture/language would be nice.  And while I wouldn't go so far as to say random letter generator, they do look like random syllabels.

That I will do, and thanks for the honesty.

In old dwarven (the  words with all consonants) there are unwritten glottal stops (in some regional accents these are replaced by a long a or short i sound. (md- kair, being a hybrid, is pronounced "mid - care"

in most other languages, "y" is a short i, "a" is pronounced long, "w" is pronounced as "ü", "dh" or "dd" are a soft "th" sound, aside from which, pronounced as german.

      Did that clear things up?
(why is there no smiley for humility?)

their lack of similarity is partially due to being from three languages (human, tuatha de dannan, and an obscure form of dwarven), and partially due to being scribbled down at 2 a.m. while undercaffeinated, midgame.
P.S If I were using a rnd lettergen, I'd write one to do a better job

Okay, that makes more sense.  A lot more sense.  See Capt. it wasn't random letters.

I still think that it's an ill programed random syllable generator though.

I can't believe this. :x You challenge my word, while misspelling those you type.
I would never deny using anything I had, ill or well programed (or PROGRAMMED.)

I'm joking, I'm joking.  And D'OH.  I have an excuse though, I was using all my brain to make fun of you.  You see, my limited brain capacity couldn't make fun of you and spell right at the same time.  It's a curse of mine, that's why all of my posts are subpar and riddled with small inconsistencies.

Honestly, I still don't really know enough about the nation to say, and I don't really like any of them. THe one I like best is Ielor. The others just seem a bit cliche or random.
