   One of the major criticisms that comes up is the 'washed out' color scheme of the site.
   
   I like it, my aim was to make a parchment type look but many people have said they don't really like it.
   
   First question:
   
   Could the site use a different color scheme? Maybe something to brighten it up a little. Add some better contrast perhaps?
   
   Second question:
   
   What colors?
   
   Color update won't really take that long at all. Problem is deciding on what color scheme to go with. Everything is CSS so just have to change a few values, no big deal.
   
   So depending on the vote I will start with some different colors in the forums perhaps and get some input. Or if we like it, then I like it. Just trying new stuff. Sometimes I don't know when to let it lie. But if the mood for change strikes....
   
   Plus, Kate has that cool new dragon that I can use so it there might be a graphic change anyway.

   I quite like this scheme! I must admit, though, I did like the old blue one. I didn't really like this one to begin with, but it has grown on me a great deal. I don't think you want anything too bright and cheerful. Think dungeons! Think dusty tomes! Think chaotic darkness! :twisted:

   I haven't seen the citadel any other way, nor could I imagine it any other way.
   
   Maybe there is some middle ground between this scheme and another. Change some of the graphics to have more color in them. So, the dragon or the citadel picture could be colored and/or set on a background. There would be colors to draw the eye and let the graphics stand out a bit more.
   
   I like the parchment background. I wouldn't change that for everyone ever.

   Personally, I rather like the way the site looks just now. It gives a comfortable citadel-like look to the place...

   This color scheme is pretty good, but it might be nice to have some more colors in places.

   Although I've voted no, maybe it'd be an idea to experiment with the CSS and just change it through a few possible colour schemes just for say a day at a time, and see if we like the variation. Maybe you could do what Google do when they have different logos for special days. You could have a green colour scheme for St Patrick's day, a dark green and red one for Christmas or something like that. Something to give people a surprise when they visit.
   
   But even so, I do like the present scheme.

   I like black backgrounds with phosphorescent green text (think old old old monitors, 2 colors old)
   
   I agree with ephemeralstability with his think dungeon comments and suggest that dark colors are the better approach. On that not I like non-dark text, I like a background that is dark and text that stands out.
   
   My comments, while suggesting that you add color, suggest nothing approaching the amount of color that you used to have on your desktop. Contrast is good, but not your former levels of contrast.
   
   I expect that no one will really agree with my suggestion, but I though I would put it out there for laughs if need be. I may be a black knight, but I have a little bit of a jester in me.

   Green on black would be good for a sci-fi site, but dungeons? White on black maybe, red on black maybe. Maybe do it all in greyscale. But I do like blue...

    I was complaining a bit, as the colours changed for the first time...
    
    I am definitely used to it now. See no need for change... but can handle an occasional change of look, sure :)
    
    I think the Citadel does not need any special colouring by now... we have content and people... some ideas on these page can handle any combination of colours. :cool:

    I am not looking for a drastic change, but perhaps a small color change may be worth a try.
    
    I set up a test forum for goofing off purposes so I don't ruin anything with this one.
    
    As it is right now I am fairly satisfied with the new layout. I do have some issues with the bland background and text. Took Drphluid's suggestion a little bit. Needs a little more tweaking, but it is close I think.

    I think you should retake that test. There's no way you're a benevolent ruler with comments like that.
    
    The neons are...a little much. The idea of a colour change is worth look, but I don't see any need to change the colour scheme.

    The problem of all benevolent rulers is, they always have an Evil twin hiding somewhere, waiting for a chance to strike... :twisted:

    Noticed that update? It is slowly moving towards some conservative casino, or other shady area. If we ever create that Living City, some parts of it might need distinct designs...
    
    So it is not useless that colour test! Enough. Eyes bleed again.

    Decided a little bit ago but forgot to post. Basically color will stay the same. Maybe the titlebar will change, or randomize it or something, but not going to mess with the overall site colors.
    
    Test forum will dissappear as soon as get around to deleting it.
