Books, Websites and Movies

1. Books, Websites and Movies

Have any of you taken a look at the "Interesting Gaming Websites" lately? Have you taken a look at the book discussions on the forum or in the chat?

There is a great deal of interest for these kind of things and that gave me an idea: I want a "Books, Websites and Movies" category on the main page!!!!

Why? Because I want to be able to more easily browse Moon's enormous thread. I want to comment and rate books. I want to flaunt my opinion without blogging. I want to do it on Strolen's, and from what I have seen: So do everyone else.

C'mon you want this... We need this.

Not a bad idea at all.

Anybody have a problem with this?

This is good for rating websites, movies, that sort of thing... Or even for reviewing and rating roleplaying games. Problem is... If a user gives a review of a bad movie...would our low votes affect that user?
   Hmmm...

I thought we were going to have a website category. We just can't come up with good categories to sort them by.

Movies/ Books/ etc. While that is really cool, they are not specifically gaming. The websites, yes (generally speaking) are useful for gaming or as a gaming resource (minus a couple posted).  But Movies and Books?  Are these reviews? Are these quotes? What do you want for the movie and book listings?

A reviews and comments section would allow us to comment on roleplaying games, gamer websites, interesting movies and interesting books. They might be tied to the gamer perspective, but to me anything with a plot is interesting.

Gamer schmamer. I like the idea of posting a book and a quick review for others and such. Since most of us are avid readers I would like to hear about just about any book. I see CP reading some odd ones in his sig all the time that have gone on my wish list. Maybe we can get him to discuss a few of them if we start this. Game books too, but that is not where my interest with it actually lies. Same with movies too.

The link forum should be seperate from this one I think.

This is something I have been thinking of myself. I am a rather prolific reader and often look to read something new, or different. But I really dont care what newspaper and magazine critics have to say about books. Plus, they dont rate game books and I have a few hundred of those and add to them on a monthly basis.

I think that we should have a book forum. Tell me what you are reading, and tell me why I should put down my book to take a look at yours. Besides, it might be funny for me and CP to argue over the merits and flaws of the Exalted game.
