I thought Barbarian Horde posts no longer possible in the version 2.0

    http://www.strolen.com/content.php?node=304
    This one is annoying....

    http://www.strolen.com/content.php?node=1271
This one is just an unlogged in soul.

  2. Re: Barbarian Horde is back?

    Why not?

Most Horde members are quite behaving, the rest can be easily dealt with. As shown, there are also very good uses - if one could not log in, for example.
  3. Re: Barbarian Horde is back?

    #3
Well, that first post should have been deleted, not commented on...so I deleted it and the comments.

I never wanted to get rid of BH. Unless it becomes a major problem I expect the admins to delete any flames or ads that make their way into comments. There is a history of acceptable BH comments and there is really no harm in them.
  4. Re: Barbarian Horde is back?

But right now, we have a Barbarian Horde POST. Not a comment.

    http://www.strolen.com/content.php?node=2330 in Advice Requested.

Is it possible for anonymous users to create submissions? Or was it some bug? (Hint: could this happen if someone posts his very first submission into Advice Requested?)

The submission was posted by the user ArchPegasus, who was probably not logged in at the moment. Or...? It has been reposted as a normal submission, so we have now two of them with almost the same name.
  5. Re: Barbarian Horde is back?

Interesting. Added it to my 'check' list.

I got rid of the extra one, there was a duplicate.

After some serious pondering I have decided to keep a comment from http://www.strolen.com/content.php?node=601 , with just a little needed censorship. Sure it is obvious, except for some of the people out there in the Barbarian Horde.

Is anyone aware That in J.R.R. Tolkiens "The Sillmerilion" Morgoth wields a black hammer known as Grond, hammer of the underworld? And that the hammer is supposed to have the same properties as the one you ripped off here? And in the Lord of the Rings the battering ram used to break the gate of Minas Tirith is called grond? In the films the orcs even chant "grond" in unison as the ram is being used on the gate. Fucking rip off... 72.136.142.66

If nothing else it tells people that it is noticed when they palgerize....not that this is (didn't look) but it keeps us more honest. That last little bit could probably still be lost without losing the effect of the post. Works for me though.

In the last comment, I tried to maintain the air of nobility this unknown visitor has blessed us with.

But now it is clear: run away who can, we have attracted a militant Tolkienist!

Fair enough. Although you could of at least credited Tolkien in some way (other than that update) instead of blattedly and arrogantly imitating a truly original idea. Belive it or not, not everyone is up to date on there Arthurian mythology, so you should not assume that.

You say it's an inspiration but all you've really done is tweaked it to make your version seem inspired, rather than counterfieted as it truly is. Scrasamax, how's this for ammunition, blow it out your ass you fat loser? And what the **** is this website anyways?

    Grrrrrr...

Note for Captain: there's an Edit link at each comment. In the editing form, there are two buttons: Update and Delete. Should be obvious from that moment.

(Now if you do not have the Edit link everywhere... then your permissions need to be set properly. Ask Strolen in that case.)

methinks I should prepare for a siege.

I think from now on I might provide an extensive list of works that inspired whatever post I have submitted. I dont like that one of my posts created such a fuss.

This seems to be the case, at least on the main page. I can edit in the forums, though... In fact, I accidentally deleted Manfred's comment and had to remake it! :D

    Good. :)

Now, our Barbarian friend in Grond is getting annoying... let's hope MoonHunter's words will chasten him somehow.
    Otherwise...  :x

Aside, just to be sure: deleting/censoring comments from users goes through Strolen and a certain thread in Ideas. OK.

But comments of Barbarian Horde are free game for us admins, right? I guess there is no dispute about this particluar case, other than fingers itching on deleting all recent comments. :/
  12. Re: Barbarian Horde is back?

    #12
BH posts are fair game. They hide therefore they lose any respect they may normally get. Better if we let each other know of them anyway so we all know what is up. I deleted BH and CPs comments though..

CP, for shame. Stop falling for it. :)

The reason I want normal posts going through me:

    1) I never see any of the bad ones, then when it comes to the head I have to go off of other people that have seen it. If I see it myself I can recongnize the trend and deal with it easier because I was personally involved.

    2) People are entitled to their opinion and I don't want things getting deleted without other admins knowing about them. Better that we all know about a situation instead of just one person (and possibly a different person each time) deleting it.

Aw, but it's just so much fun! :D
It *would* be nice if I had some kind of moderator power for the front page, but if that is not to your liking, that's cool.

I will try and fix that as soon as I can. This weekend at the latest. Was an oversight, not purposeful.

A reminder of times past has returned. I place it here until I find out what to do with it - or someone else does it. I feel strongly inclined to delete the whole set of comments after Belby's one, they all go away from the topic on a useless tangent (except for the last two). But that would mean quite heavy censorship on my part, which starts to intrude upon Strolen's turf (deleting user comments). Strolen?

I have been finding rocks with natural caused holes in them for about the last 10 years and now have about 100. As I start to research these stones it seems to me that this amount is highly unusual for 1 person to find. What should I do with them to gain the attributed benefits from them for myself and others? Yesterday I found over 20 and can usually find at least 1 if I go to the same Beach.

The original post makes no mention of now these stones get the way they are. Belby's post is perfectly possible since there is no mention of manufacture or enchanting in the original post. In fact you find them. They are really common items to have such useful common magics and stat bonuses.

As for these Holey Stones – I actually like this quite a lot

I tend to prefer worlds with a strong spiritual or mythical basis, since mythology helps to explain and define the powers and limitations of magic. These fit very nicely into this kind of setting.

Actually a do seem to vaguely recall something like this in a fantasy novel (I think by Tad Williams but I can’t quite remember) being described as Fairy Stones or Luck Stones (or something like that). This however does not in the least detract from the idea.

Nice atmospheric feel – good solid post – 5/5

Now this one I definitely do not understand: http://www.strolen.com/content.php?node=2311
I thought it said this was a role playing site. Where'd you ever hear about the Crosind Weird (whom you so quaintly call Corvus the Mad)? Where does your family come from? And what in heaven's name are you doing bringing him up here?! One of his ‘spheres’ (some call them ‘psi-balls’), the one he made to rid the castle of occasional rats, recently turned up at a ranch in north east Utah, owned at the time by a couple named Gorman. It vaporized three of their dogs. There’s an account of it in ‘Hunt for the Skinwalker’, a report on the NIDS investigation by Colm A. Kelleher and George Knapp. And the ones he wanted to trim his beard, seemed to have a problem with that. He made several attempts. No doubt you’ve heard of the mysterious ‘cattle mutilations’. And that little ‘accident’, as you call it, may have been significantly less ‘unfortunate’ than it appeared.

If you’ll excuse me, i have work to do. No, it’s certainly not ‘Stalking the Wild Asparagus’.

i’ll be in touch. If you’re a blood relative... i’ll want to know where you are. For your own good.

Best of luck (hoping you won’t need it),
    enog.

MoonHunter: does it make any sense at all or is it just rambling?

XP: [  +    -  ]  ( 0 ) This is an opportunity for me to speak up "my truth". My name is Hernando Ferro and I'm well known as Manny_RalphWise (my Alias name).
I've been an active member of The Rosicrucian Order, A.M.O.R.C. since 1968. It is to say, I've bee a member for over 38 years. This means, I have some backgroung and basis I can speak of.
Everything has a two side story. Like a coin has two sides. No Organization is perfect; for we all are human beings and therefore none of us is perfect. So I will speak up of The Good, The Bad and The unspeakable of The Rosicrucian Order, A.M.O.R.C.
I must be honest and truthful at least with mySELF !!! I could deceive You who are reading my testimony; but I can not nor I could deceive my Conscience or INNER TRUE SELF.
At this time, having finished the last degree with A.M.O.R.C. and not quite finished, since Patricia Andaluz (In charge of Membership)has not yet send my last monograph of the 7th. plane ; which is Monograph 16 I understand and was told by Soror Patricia Andaluz (from Grand Lodge of Mexico or GLH A.M.O.R.C.) I still can't explain myself why that Monograph was not sent or delivered to me. This is part of the bad I've experienced about A.M.O.R.C. And I may sound mad...and I'm certainly upset about it !!! I might be mistaken...but I'm being honest about the way I feel. Perhaps, The Order makes us wait for the last Monograph; perhaps not. I´m just assuming. Possibly, Soror Patricia Andaluz missed to deliver me the Monograph; forgot, or who knows what reason or reasons She might have had. I don't know !!! I just wonder. I wish I had an answer. At the time I sent Soror Patricia Andaluz an e-mail requesting my last Monograph, I was up to date with my dues at that time. I see no reason why. Anyway, Soror Patricia Andaluz or The Order must have a reason. Hope some day I get to know it. I'm not 100% psychic and know it all.
As to the good side ...there's plenty to say !!!
First of All, what have I accomplished by being a Rosicrucian from A.M.O.R.C. ?
To be short at this point : My Personality has suffered a lot of Changes. I'd say : Personality Changes. This has been the best could ever have happened to me. I'm a different Person today !!!
You may ask Yourself : What kind of changes ?
I used to drink; now I don't. Sex was my weakest part; now it's my strongest. I had no control over the sexual desire. Now I have full control and awareness of. Used to smoke; can't stand cigarrete smog !!!
In the past I was so intolerant; now I'm Tolerant and Patient. Had a bad temper; now it's under control. My emotions were negative; such as Anger,Wrath and Fear. Nowadays, I've become more at ease, and peaceful.
Even though I'm not feeling Love all the time; I'm a much more loving person with People and Life itself. Truly speaking, I've changed on all levels. On the Physical, I feel healthier than before; and look much younger than my real age (60). On the Emotional Level, I enjoy a piece of music and I get pretty emotional 'cause I turned more sensitive or sensible to emotions. On the Level of Affection, I finally realized that attachment to a Love relationship, causes hurt and dependency. I've gotten total freedom; for I don't hold onto anybody or anything !!!
And the Last but not the Least, on the Mental or Psychic Level, I've become very intuitive, more sensitive to People's Vibrations, areas or places, premonitions, wonderful psychic experiences to help others and for the benefit of my own, a daily growth in understanding Life and its purpose, my Mission, etc.,etc. to name a few.
Actually, through A.M.O.R.C I've been able to comprehend what's this all about.
A.M.O.R.C. is NOT a Religion; but a way of understanding; comprehending.
Our Consciousness gets expanded through knowledge and comprehension.
We evolve, grow, progress, awake, into higher and higher realms of Consciousness, Awareness !!!
I owe my inner and outer progress to A.M.O.R.C.
Conclusion : What You learn from A.M.O.R.C. is worth your time !!!
Past Wisdom through out the ages !!!
I highly recommend our Beloved and Sacred Order of The Rosicrucians, A.M.O.R.C. to the Sincere and true seeker !!!
    Sincerely,
    Hernando Ferro
