Which Novel shall I do?
#1I am thinking about doing nanowrimo, but I am unsure as story to do as a novel. (To find out about Nanowrimo, http://www.nanowrimo.org ). I have three approximate ideas, so I am posting it up here for your decision:
1) Travelog Non-Arth: A young man, a hidden prince, has been hidden from the Bad King by people in The Azure District, associated with talismonger I wrote up, meeting up with a Lyran Airship visiting the Mccafri Airdock, needs to find the widgit to regain his throne and more importantly save a chunk of the world (or similar crisis) and have to travel from odd place to place, why being hounded by several orders.
In short, lots of running and encountering as many non-arth regular post that I have created as I can. (note: non-kerren, non-ring as well)
2) Onterio's Flight: An early history of Kerren following Onterio, the first Dragon Rider. Each chapter would start with a pieces of the Sagas (the oral history/ fairytale of what happened) and continue on with what really happened. This would be Phase 1 Kerren Campaign story. It would follow him from just pre-bonding (to set the stage) to his and the dragon's first attack against Zhan to the establishment of his wing (setting the stage for the rest of the stories/ campaign).

3) Eternal Ring: The whole Eternal Ring piece was created by two or three scenes in my mind, that I have strung together as a story. We follow one avatar as they travel from Gothem (modern urban world) to a place where they ride dragons as racing, in preparation for a tournament. (We see the attitudes and simple paranoia of avatars). They find out "something is happening" that is not right. It is not just cheating, but it seems to be breaking the very rules the Ring. They find out, the run away and regroup, then determine if they don't fix it now, it will be way, way to late for the Proctors to do, so they are on it. This one might be easier to write.

#2Onterio's Flight catches my interest quicker than the other two, although the Travelog comes in a close second.
Probably the idea of seeing the myth and the truth and how they differ is what interests me the most about it. Plus, knowing the beginnings of Kerren would be just plane cool. -

#3The Eternal Ring has a lot of potential. Kerren is cool, but the Ring... it is untouched in some ways.
You could, due to the different tech and magic levels of the spheres, mix modern day spy and conspiracy novels with standard fantasy novels on this one... Harry Potter for Adults. -

#4I like the idea concept of the Eternal Ring - something about it seems more original than the first two -- I feel. ^__^ -

#5Personal Opinion: The unknown is scary. If you want your novel to be scary, it might be better if the protagonist begins as a non-avatar. Then he could uncover the truth about things and the "secret order" (tm) in true Lovecraftian tradition. (Yes, me and CP are quite fond of that approach ;)) -

#6Thank you for your assistance. I am going to write the Eternal Ring based piece. I am doing such for two reasons.
1) It is a simplier piece to do.
2) It is a much better story.
Onterio's Rise is a good story... but it is slow and cumberson and will require the inclusion of many recursive details to be interesting. In short, it will take a lot of attention and rewriting to make it work.
The Eternal Ring story I have in mind is a somewhat direct action story that would be something someone would run in the after running an Eternal Ring campaign for a while, to really shake things up.
