What is an evening in the tavern without a few (possibly dirty) jokes the people share? Let's get some! Sadly I know only one now...

    ---

...there rides the mighty knight, an accomplished dragonslayer, to kill a dragon that ravages the countryside. Coming upon a large hill, he found the opening of the filthy lair, stinking terribly, surrounded by many bones. Preparing his shield and arms, he cried his challenge:
"Come out, you beast and taste my sword, I challenge you to a fight to the death!"
Suddenly the whole mountain shook, and a gigantic head approached from above, speaking:
"INDEED, I ACCEPT YOUR CHALLENGE... BUT WHY ART THOU SHOUTING INTO MY ARSE?"

Not exactly what you are looking for, but the linked site below has some allegorical fantasy tales with modern meanings of politics and consumerism.

Only one reply? forshame! Here's an idea. Nowadays, people have to be skinny, because that's what is in. But then, Woman had to be fat, they held babies better, and for some reason people liked that. So now we do blond jokes, what would they have done then? And that's just in a purely middle ages setting. Youv'e got everything from faeries to elves to orcs. If people have been telling stereotypical jokes for THIS LONG, something has to be funny. Plus, while you can overdo stereotyping, the funniest shows on television seem to get away with it because they make fun of everyone. Sorry that i can't think of any jokes right now, and for ressurecting this old thread, but it just seemed funny to me.
