[DELETED] The Stone Cup
#1The Stone Cup | Type: Other | A cup made of stone. | Author: Jazzman
Thsi item at first looks rather primative. It is simple a cup or saucer made of stone with quartz viens running through it
This is an item any magic user would kill to get. Filled with water or some other liquid, it is a most powerful tool even though it looks like the simplest item.
Magical Properties:
Once the cup is filled with something and any creature drinks from it, it will reveal that person's/creature's true name.Suggested submissions to be used with this item.

This one didn't have a lot of thought behind it: perhaps a little fleshing out is in order?
a) How does it "reveal that person's/creature's true name"? Do they spontaneously blurt it out? Does it start etching itself in a tattoo across their arm (which wears off after a few days)? Does it start cropping up wherever you look, in the patterns of the clouds, in the forms of the nearby leaves, etc.?
b) Why does this item exist? Perhaps some sorceror created it because he fell in love with a mysterious woman who came to drink at a pool in the forest, but who would never tell him her name. He created this cup and offered it to her the next time she came to drink. She drank and spoke her name, and it turned out she was a goddess. This revelation of his love so flattered/angered her that she married/smote him on the spot.
That said, it's a promising stub for an item.

I have to agree with Captain here.
Jazzman, you have some very good ideas in you, you simply need to think more on them. Come up with a suitable background and explain effects more fully.
Dont be discouraged, however. You have the ability to make some great posts.
If you are stuck for ideas - go into the forums, and post your thought in flesh it out - let us help you.
