   I HAVE AN IDEA!
   
   ...Recently, I reacquired a PDF file I had a long time ago... For the FUDGE system. A truly, genuinely universal and freeform game system. It's free, too.
   
   Even better, it allows each player and GM to customize to taste. We could simply set out the standards, and let those who felt they'd prefer to not do any extra work use those... And those who wanted extra detail could fill out their sheets in as much detail as they wished.
