#1Rigged Dice | Type: Other | Dice | Author: Chi Chio [ Print Item ] [ Edit Post ]
Special dice for those 'favorable' results.
A pair of 6-sided, plain brown dice with yellow spots. However, specially distributed weights on each of the dice's sides always roll 7's. Perfect for gambling, when you simply can't lose or a life or death situation (i.e.: An insane trolls says he'll let you live if you roll the humans' lucky number, 7, or something else like that...). This can also vary with magic, see below. And what would be a better carrying case for your rigged dice, than a "trick" bag?
Magical Properties:
If you decide to make it magical, than it doesn't have to necessarily have to roll only 7's. In fact, it could roll an entirely different number all the time, or if it was telepathically connected to the roller's mind, than it could roll anything the roller desired.

And?
What makes this item special? Anybody could come up with these. They're just loaded dice. But kudos for bringing my attention to an item I do not usually use in my campaigns.

You must have been reading Prattchet
This is exactly what "the Lady" does when she's play with the Blind Io for the fate of Rincewind the (not so good) wizard

I have a pair of dice that look exactly like that! Other than that I'm not all that impressed.

Now, if they rolled luckily ONLY in life-or-death situations, and rolled badly if the owner tried to use them to gain material wealth, then they'd be fun.
Anice backstory about some gambler who owned them, perhaps about a minor beneficial spirit inside them, or a small city of microscopic gnomes who just enjoy being tossed around (of course the dice'd be just full of airshipsand alchemists ;) ) would make it far more interesting.
So: bland.

Well, the actual item is kind of (very) boring, but I have two things to say:
1) What happens if a person only rolls one of the two dice? Does it malfunction? Does the other one roll automatically?
2) I must confess, I like that idea about the gnomes.
