#1Greetings Carc. Welcome to Strolen.
I see this as a good time to bring forth an important issue.
Many of us here at the citadel is drawing and illustrating, Captain Penguin for one. Carc here, me and others if I remember correctly. Why is it that none of us has illustrated anything on strolen? I know there is some kind of section for this, but last I checked nothing major has been done there.
Maybe we could deal with this in a new way in the new version Strolen?
Just airing the idea... And so on and so forth with the on and the forth.

04:30:44 A section for artists. People can put requests up for the would-be artists to draw their own impressions of what is described for the asker. It may be a but amatuerish, but you'll get a few pictures to choose from, and budding artists can increase their skills!

I think it sounds pretty good ;)
Bonuses would be more people joining the citadel, plus an additional section to add interest to it. It would be nice to have a few people draw different interpretations of the things you have in mind.
I see a couple problems. First and probably largest, is space to store images. Is Strolen willing to give up his precious space to share this with us? :P
Second, and one more easily solved, is Indecent images. There will have to be some regulations. Since people will have to sign up to post images anyway, we can just block those who post indecent images, and temp or perm ban the person who did it. -

#3Things I would love to see;
Maps- Maps of the different world and regions.
Character Portraits- Npc´s and Pc´s.
Beasts- Different beasts, monsters, animals in our worlds. There are many original ideas and creations here in Strolens that deserve to be drawn and put to life.
Architecture- Our cities, castles, black towers.
The options are many. -

#4I don't have a problem with it. Not too worried about space. It will be awhile before that becomes a problem.
Really there was a general lack of interest in it. Ria Hawk drew a few custom Citadel pictures in there but really the album is pretty much neglected by most. Granted, I don't advertise it either.
V2.0 is going to allow pictures in submissions (users will be able to turn off viewing these) and the size will be restricted and all that. But offering that may make graphics and maps more common and justify a more defined album portion of the site.
Software. If anybody knows or has seen any album software that they really like then let me know. This is one thing I don't intend to code myself, will definately use a third party album.
If they come, I will build it. -

#5I sort of replied to this in my welcome post, but anyway.
To recap, I have some work that is fantasy/scifi compatible and am able to draw characters and such (if school allows it). I can show some sample stuff if desired.
Oh, tinypic and photobucket are both fine image hosting sites wich I frequently use. -

#9Okay. I'm sorry. You know I am going to ask this. Is it a suprise? I think not. Is it expected? I bet it is. Is it something that needs to be asked, you betcha Red Rider. So drum rolll please?

So how will this be implimented in v2.0?

Will it be much as it is? Will it be like a post (with an imbedded image?)? Will it be something else?

All depends on the software package we get.
It will be a seperate page that will pretty much stand on its own. The only thing I definately want, and which I could probably code into whatever package we decide on, is the ability to link the images easily from inside submissions.

Problem is there are so many to chose from and many are pretty similiar. Probably narrow a few down by requiring them to allow comments on individual pictures as mentioned.
But all in all, it probably won't be too different from the current album. The major addition would be the addition of someway to easily link to individual pictures from the submissions of course.
