#1Strolen!
I couldn't help but notice that right now (apart from me, manfred and yourself) there aren't many people who post more than a single plot. They're either too busy to return and submit more, or they're disappointed they've not got feedback from the first.
The comments are a good idea, but they're not being used at the moment. I think people might be more reluctant to write textual comments, and would respond better to having the option of a multiple choice rating system in addition to the comments. Say you could give a plot 5 stars for originality, 2 for playability, or whatever. That way you might be able to solve your quality control ideas too, killing two rocs with one slingshot (however unlikely that may be).
Maybe if on the front page you had not only the most recent plots, but the number of views they've had (like on the forums) and the average ratings you'd get more people coming back to check how their plot got on.
Of course it might discourage people too, by making them feel intimidated. But it's only an idea anyway.

#2I agree 100% that we need to me more interactive if we want people to come back over and over. The voting one is a good one and there are a few ways to implement it. I have thought about that in the past but wasn't too sure about it.
I never thought of different catagories to vote on actually. The initial accept/reject vote was a way to get immediate feedback on a post by a vote, if not a remark as well. That would be for those with that special access as moderators, as you are now. Not just anybody would be able to cast those acdceptance votes.
For everybody I was thinking of having votes on submissions and also have the option to do a voting circle. By doing that you would be fed each submission to vote on until you voted on them all. You vote could be cast, you could view the tallied results and the next one would load to vote on as well. I forget the site I saw that on, hot or not or something like that where you vote on peoples pictures.
Also, to get return visitors, would have it available to recieve an email whenever you got a new comment on one of your submissions like the builetin board does now. Also, after you log in, you could go to your user page and it would list all the recent submissions since the last time you logged in, all the new comments, sort of like the purple boxes for the new posts on the board, except I would have the link for the submission be available. The user page will be the place to go sort of like the control panel. Plan on having quite a few things going on there.WIll have to list them in another thread to see what is good and bad for it.
If you can think of some other catagories that could be voteable or an idea on how to work it I would like to hear it. I only have the general idea as shown above and agree with your intimidation thought as well. But heh, that starts the quality control even earlier if they know they have to go through a sort of acceptance level and then can be ranked by votes. Might get only the good quality. And I am all for quality and not quantity. A good idea can go a long way while a lot of crappy ideas are more then useless and may drive people away.
The number of views would be pretty easy to implement. But would you count a view when they just look at it on the main catagory page by default, or would you count a view only when the click on that submission's link and view it seperately. I was thinking of going to summaries for all the submissions anyway and force a click to view then like the NPC's are now but not sure if I like having an extra click or not.
Enough rambling for one post I think. -

#3General comment tip: do more comments
Some comments now:
Reject/Accept vote IS an intimidating subject itself but voting could be OK ... if there are any, ehm lesser quality plots, they would simply go down. Reject should be used for only the worst things... sometimes the silliest adventures worked best for me...
(but if theres over 100 plots to be, hmm... quality might be REALLY a question)
Oh, is it so that a submission must be first checked by other people and THEN it is published to the world? I would say no, not until there are tens of submissions a week and someone to check them all-the-time. Writing that cool idea and waiting on that lazy moderator, that would scare people away...
E-mail:
how about the option of being weekly/monthly informed:
Your plot ABCD is now rated VERY GOOD (or smthing like that) and has 256 new comments added!
Your forum-post has been answered by ...... etc.
Or the option: tell me at once if someone answered to this! (be it plot or on the forum!)
Tarzan likes recent submissions ;-)
Give people the option: after login, I want to see everything short/long
Perhaps looking at the comments or the whole long plot may be a view . But adding a comment should be counted as another view, definitely. -

#4Point taken on approval idea. I will simply make it so it will be easier to implement if it comes to that but for now leave it as it is.
Modified my other post for the User Page based on your suggestions. -
agree/disagree
#5I agree with ephemer’s original idea on voting. I would like to see all post as voteable. For instance rather that writing out this entire message to agree with ephemer’s idea, I would like to choose from a couple of options. I would like to be able to Reply with a textual message and state all that I agree with or disagree with and why, or choose from a sliding scale (strongly agree, mostly agree, slightly agree, slightly disagree, mostly disagree, strongly disagree). I can not think of any comment/criticism that can not be agreed or disagreed with. I see that the user has the option to poll, but I would like the option to agree/disagree in varying proportion to any post without a textual response.
If someone post a comment that stats they would like to see this site dedicate its efforts to Pokemon roll playing :x and drop any other pursuits I would like to be able to disagree without having to explain why.

#6Person has a plot:
Able to vote on it.
Able to comment on it.
Person has a comment
Are you saying maybe to have it like amazon.com on their comments. 4 out of 7 people found this comment useful or something to that affect?
Would that really be helpful? Not sure if I find that helpful on amazon.com. Or are you talking strictly about this forum? and in that case I can't do much about that.
Is a flat out vote good enough, or do we want different catagories to vote in? -

#7I am sold and everything for voting on Plots, NPCs Items and maybe even Ideas, but well,ehm... I don't want to vote on others people opinion, nor do I want my opinions voted. If you don't like my idea, tell it or leave it that way. Not all of my ideas are good, nor are others ideas. Also, what about a great idea combined with a trashy one?
And should I ever fall in love with Pokemon stuff :x , it would be nice if someone explained to me, with a calm voice, that my mind has finally left me...
