This is, by far, the worst post by annonymous. After all, if you don't have to take responsibility for your actions, you can do anything. I have already deleted this and a few similar posts over the last few weeks.

Why do you care? The Newb (I'm shortning his name dont get touchy) made a terrible character. Come on, who here on this site didnt say out loud to themselves in front of their comps. Perhaps a poll in the main site with a similiar post.

I bow humbly to the majority in things like this, although I will be deeply regretful that we lost the freedom to post anonymously if that is how the decision swings.

The right to post anonymously is a good one- if you hadn't had it, I wouldn't have joined this site. But we also have to stop posts like all of that.

Well, lets cut down the good points and bad points of anonymous posting.

Good Points
- Quick, easy way to add comments if you just want to spend a few seconds on it.
- Passer-bys to the site wont be deterred by the requirement of logging in to put in what may be a valuable opinion.

Bad Points
- Gives anonymous surfers the chance to post slanderous comments without having to 'identify' themselves by creating an account

To try and stop the mad spammer I have just marked keywords in comments that will identify the comment as spam and notify the poster that the comment has been recognized as such. The keywords I am using are

slots
party poker
online casino
empire poker
online poker
online blackjack
rtq2

Slots is the only one I am worried about since if anybody uses slots in their post it will be marked as spam. Worth that problem though I think. I don't track IPs on comments (although people seem to think I do and I won't tell them otherwise) so, assuming they used the same computers, I can't block them that way anyway.

Figured I would let you know how I was doing it and if you had other suggestions for spam flags.

Actually loose slots. You could simply flag poker, casino, blackjack, and roulette. You could make these "bad words" and not let them print in an entry. That would slow them down. Or you could loose the annoymous posting that lets them do this. (Of course then they have to go through the effort of creating a splat account... but since this seems automated... it would make it protected.

2)Now these posts are one of the reasons I hate Horde. I know some of you will "never joins sites unless they have annoymous postings", but geeze. I understand the philosophical point, but reality is often different. I mean philosophically internet access should be free and people should donate or pay for their favorite websites, yet the reality becomes different.

Personally, if a board is worth the effort to read and get involved in, it is worth enrolling in. I usually hang out on a board for a few months. If it is any good, I stay. If it is a waste of time, I check on it every six months or so and move on.

Such bravery! Hiding behind an anonymous nick, insulting the authors for no apparent reason. It makes me wonder... Are you a Citadellian, or even a roleplayer at all? What in particular did you not like, and what do you mean by next? Next what? Why next when you obviously despise a high quality submission?

These demons are not my cup of tea either, but I judge from an unbiased point of view, regarding the overall quality of the submission. It is quite mainstream fantasy you know, and a pretty good submission in that genre.

Okay, now, normally, I'd not see fit to respond to such a comment - but today is my nice day (yes, even I have those), so:

First and foremost, I'd like to THANK that compassionate person who pities me so much - though I'd be much more grateful if I knew who voiced such a nice comment so that I'm able to thank that benefactor better.

Second, I have understood your point (whoever you may be) well enough. Do not feel compelled to add such a comment to EVERY one of my posts. Actually, the best way would be if you just sent me a private message - if you have got a problem with me, I'd prefer if we could discuss it in the private, and not bother our fellow Strolenites with messages that do NOT pertain to the post in question.

Third, my comment WAS sarcastic - feel free to discuss it with someone who actually has some insight into humor. If you happen to know anyone, unlikely as it may be.

A final note: well aware that this was evoked by my comment on that oh so flawless post by the oh so perfect 'the Phantom' (who 'rox' of course) - I'm honest. If I think someone should burn in hell for soiling a great piece of art with his stupidity, I voice my opinion. Of course, you may think the same of me. How good for me that I like it hot.

Dear barbarian horde, these comments are unprofessional and uninteresting. If you truly think this post is of inferior quality, you should point out WHAT you do not like. You should say WHY the overall score is low. Boring, long and stupid IS a comment, but it rather seems like you do not like roleplaying at all...

If this is some sort of blood feud going on, take it somewhere else.

When I get back from work I will ask Echo to start ignoring it. He seems to have a comment everytime there is a BH post which causes me to want to leave it because I don't like to delete Echos. If Echo just didn't comment to some of them then I would just delete the offending BH posts and be done with it.

Would have been much easier to just delete the original BH post and be done with it.

Maybe I will just make a general announcement to ignore annoying posts and report them instead of replying to them. THey are starting to dirty the citadel.

I may put that in the same post as a vote to go registered only and then I will bow to public opinion.

You know. We could prevent any url in a barbarian by making html, www, http://, and a href, bad words in a BH post (or heck any post not made by an mod/ admin). so sure they would spam, but nobody would ever go to the sites.

That would dissallow us from putting in links to other things too. Not done frequently, but has been done before.

I am going to try AG's idea of having to put in a random number for a BH to post. See if that does it. It is easy to implement so worth the try. Not sure about the random .gif thing like phpbb does, but since it is all available I might do that too. I shall see once I start programming it how easy it would be to get that in there.

I am still for anonymous posting. But sometimes... *grinds teeth in anger*

Some guy is writing a blog/diary about his penis enlargement odyssey. He is just taking some of those pills, and documenting his progress. It's an interesting start of something... I guess lacking any actual research about penis enlargement, maybe one guy's experiences will provide some kind of objectivity like this: "I noticed a "tingly" sensation in my penis when I got my first post-pill erection last night..." Pretty straightforward I guess. No vacuum pumps or anything to get real queasy about. Just a guy, trying for a mightier penis.
