Another 2-flamer, but should seriously go.

The Sword of Elanzer | Type: Large_Sword | Long Sword | Cursed | Author: Beowulf

Created 10,000 years ago by the Dragon Lord himself...

The chaos in which the dragons brewed upon the lands would have to be controlled somehow and to do this they would need something or someone to lead them. They got both. The Dragon Lord, Mateo, was the Supreme Lord of all dragons, having made the first one with laying down with the Serpentess, Mekaido, the first dragon was latched and spread among the empty world. The dragons ruled the world for a very long time before any other being came into power. First, was the elves who lived harmoniously with the dragons. Then the dwarves who stayed in their moutians, secluded from everyone else. Then, the worst thing created so the dragons say, were the humans. They ravaged the country and war soon broke out among the many races. The humans made a special class of men to fight the dragons and arose the Dragon Slayers, Lord Sky was the first of these and with him he led the elite band into the Dragonlands, where he fought bravely on and the only one to reach the lair of Mateo and his mate, Mekaido. There he slew Mekaido and Mateo, the battle lasting days into weeks before Sky carried the heart of Mateo out and threw it upon the ground before the other dragons who fled in terror at their lord being killed. But Mateo was more wise then this in his life and before dying had planted a special sword and planted in the heart of his last hatchling, the Chaos Dragon. The baby dragon flew out of a hidden corridor and was never to be seen again, save in the nightmares and legends of men. Sky found out of this soon and would promise that his family line would not rest until the dragon had been slain and the Family had acquired the sword to control the dragons for eternity.

Magical Properties: This item is cursed.
The Sword is virtually indestructable and was made from the heart of the earth, Gaia. The sword's curse is that only the family foresons of Sky would be able to use the sword properly without destorying themselves.

AAGH! Too strong! Weaken it by... a million and it would be a fairly decent device. Also, the story lacked... something. I really can't put my finger on it though.

I Can't weaken it is not to be held by any other type of men or dragons beside Lord ky and his kin.

    Then why'd you post it?
The point of these items is to be used. So unless one of the players is a descendant of Lord Sky, it is useless to us.
And what if one of the players is a descendant of Lord Sky? That player will be able to hold this insanely powerful sword. WAY WAY WAY TOO POWERFUL.

    2/5.

This is a good item in a story, where you the author can make sure it is used appropriately and controlling who and what can use it, but an awful item for a game.

The story does lack something. Maybe it's my ADHD, but I couldn't follow it. Too cluttered, or something.

Not a bad item really but would be pretty campaign specific. Also any game it was effectively used in would either revolve around one character... the descendant of Lord Sky... or involve the players getting messed up. Neither of which ruins the game but both require "understanding " players.

it is a good item for a gameone for the players to go after but not use, but other than that it is way to strong for ANY player to have

Actually we should save this one. It is an item you would base a campaign on, rather than just something to plot on to the game.

Perhaps I should create a Campaign Seed thread, just a summary of a campaign (and its setting if important) that can be run. Just a thought.
