What happened to the Trap page?
#3I found a couple of replacement links for you.
This one affects me the most. Squirrel Trap
Antiques
Fish Traps
Oh, wait, I know what you are talking about. Fantasy type stuff, my fault.
You are right, I can't find it. -

#4Good ole Trap collections and NetBook, I remember those well.
Sadly, the page also featured an interactive database (sort of) of newer traps submitted by visitors... I fear the data is lost now. -
trap book

A question
#6Should we salvage a series of traps from being lost to the void of time? Is it an appropriate thing we should set up a thread or information type for?
One should strive to be a REALLY USEFUL POSTER. One should strive to be a REALLY USEFUL POSTER. One should strive to be a REALLY USEFUL POSTER. One should strive to be a REALLY USEFUL POSTER. #7Have to dig in my old archives, but I think I have all the trapbooks/collections. There is one between the Citadel's NetBooks already, I'll see to it that others are posted, too.
We already have a thread for Traps, we just need to keep it growing. If it grows, it surely may get its own information type. -
Ummm. Manfred
#8Can you put on your modeator hat for a moment? (I'll wait) Okay. So how are we going to code these these traps in version 2.0? Are they Items? Are they Locations? Should we have a Dungeon Category where we can post, traps, doors, room descriptions, et all? I am just blurbing ideas, but do you think we can generate enough content to warrent one? And can we convince Strolen of the correctness of our decision?
Stop coasting, POST SOMETHING ALREADY. Stop coasting, POST SOMETHING ALREADY. Stop coasting, POST SOMETHING ALREADY. Stop coasting, POST SOMETHING ALREADY. Stop coasting, POST SOMETHING ALREADY. Locations. While traps are built most of the time and rarely cast, it's the location that defines a traps purpose and other features.
Dungeon Category - initially I'd say no, but then I got reminded of the still-not-completely-dead Labyrinth idea. If we ever get to make it, it would be nice to have a source of material to draw from. We may create (yet another) Idea Scroll or two. As for a stand-alone category... there would be Traps, Rooms, and what? For Doors, I don't think a special list would be necessary. Monsters are not quite the thing, at least for me.

Evolution Rocks! (we had a thread of this name, but I am too lazy to look it up now...)
Settings are started from threads in the general Settings forum; once we assume the world has enough material to warrant an own category, it shall get a category then.
For the 'Dungeon', let me propose the same: let there be a few lists, and if they grow sufficiently, and other material starts showing up (for the Labyrinth, perhaps?), it shall be a category then.
But this, dear Citadelians, requires more activity on your part.
(See, I have written it only once! Wouldn't it be funny if it worked? ;) ) -

#10Traps, tasty, crunchy traps for you! Anyone wants a nice trap?
What a luck I was a download-aholic back then. Found them all:
- the Trap Collection
- the Trap Collection 2
- the Book of Tricks and Traps
- and some document of unknown origin called Traps, Traps, Traps
Be warned some of those traps are complete everkills wasting tons of magic and resources, and some are simple and way too devious. There are some complex and devious ones, too, though.
Enjoy them once they are added to the site.

#11So if there was a dungeon section, we will have a room /location entry. Traps would be another category. Other features such as doors/ corredor description.
I was originally against this idea, but if we have enough content hiding out there ( and we have a good amount) we can generate a good section. And I think we can do it. Just a thought.
PS: I even avoiding putting down my normal repeated phrase of encouragement to post and to be a good member. -
