The War of Andune
#41Aelric sighed and shrugged.
"I don't have the power to make that kind of move."
He rubbed his temples trying to erase the headaches.
"Anfalas doesn't have enough soldiers to fight the Talaharans." -
The War of Andune
#42He looked at the elf once more and then said.
Then why don't you guys call for a peace treaty? -
The War of Andune
#43He looked at the elf trivially and led him into his camp. The camp had a green rug set out against the cold floor with a fire burning in an open place. There was also a couch and large bed, only for commanders. Aelric sat down at a table full of maps and drawings.
"We can't just call it off. Talahar has to agree upon it as well, and I doubt they will. They'll want revenge for the deaths of soldiers." -
The War of Andune
#44He smirked then walked into the camp still not trusting te fairborn.
I know that, it is why don't you try it and see if it works. There is always a chance fo anything to happen. -
The War of Andune
#45"That would shame the nation, and Talaharans would believe us cowards. If we do, people will resent it for the waste of elvish warriors and a rebellion might break out. We went into this war not thinking of how to end it with peace. Besides, my job is to defeat the Talaharans at their own game, not wonder about politicial problems."
He said motioning for the elf to sit across from him.
"Now, tell me what is your buisness here?" -
The War of Andune
#46He smirked and then stood up looking through the camp.
I have come here for my father is unjust in my own land he has become prune to his own beliefs and is now just afraid to take a stand against an evil wizard and his minions. But now I know of what you are talking about fairborn, and I am also human not elf...Why don't you ask your friends the dwarves to help you fight them off? -
The War of Andune
#47The elf almost burst out laughing.
"Dwarves! Dwarves have never walked in the grand forests of the Andune or ever seen the Kark Moutians. You will only find elves in Anfalas, for we are an elven nation and proud to be so." -
The War of Andune
#48He smirked and then said.
So you do not like or live with dwarves peacefully then? -
The War of Andune
#49"Dwarves do not exist in Anfalas, but peace we might have with them if ever there were any to make peace with." -
The War of Andune
#50He looked at the fairborn and then around the encampment.
That is somewhat confusing...Where I come from the fairborn elves and dwarves ar nothing more than slaves in which I have emnity of for they ar no better than us.
He looked around and then whistled and his horse Riverdancer came trotting up. He grabbed the reigns and jumped atop his horse.
I will burdn you no more I am to ride on the road fr my father will surely search for me here. -
The War of Andune
#51The elf raised slowly.
"Please stay. Do you have any knowledge of the geography of Talahar. I still plan to take their capital." -
The War of Andune
#52He turned and then looked at the elf and said.
I know nothing of that kingdom. -
The War of Andune
#53He nodded and waved his hand.
"Then leave, and the blessing of Anfalas follow you." -
The War of Andune
#54He turned around an nodded as he spoke.
Can you assist me in the direction of the nearest town? -
The War of Andune
#55He thought on it for awhile.
"Elimirth. Be careful. Beasts lurk the Andune." -
The War of Andune
#56He looked around and the replied.
Which way is that? -
The War of Andune
#57"Northeast. Continue that way and you see the great road. Follow the Great Road and it will lead you to Elimirth."
He said as he whistled and a pack of supplies was handed over to Luthien.
