Merc. for Hire
#1Dekkrokh was sitting in a bar waiting for anyone who needed someone loyal that would fight by their side knowing that he would stand with them till the end.
"Bartender get me a beer."
He said in a low voice so that no one would know who it was speaking besides the bartender. -
Merc. for Hire
#2He came inside with a rumble. Giant of a man he was. Kassil Khirsah was a very old man though, but still clinged to youth. He faced the mercenary and smiled. Kassil wore massive heavy red armour with small red coned spiked protuding from all over it. He wore a black cloak with a red dragon tooth on the back of it. He had a great sword strapped across his back and a mace at his side strapped loosely. He had dark weathered skin from the sun, his face battle scared and wrinkled. His hair was cut short in a crew cut. He walked up to the mercenary and nodded.
"I need help with one such as you."
He said, his voice rough and booming -

#3He smiled still facing the bartender his cloak covering his masculin body.
"Are you the man I was told about,Dragon Slayer."
He said as he turned around with a mask covering half of his face showing his blue eye shadowing his golden eye.
"What is it you need my help with kind sir?"
He said as he got up and walked over to Kassil looking up slightly. -
Merc. for Hire
#4He nodded and tilted his head, this man was direct. He liked that in the youth, too many young people using deception nowadays and not speaking the gods honest truth. Though he had learned long ago, truth suffered from too much analysis from the young and sometimes the old.
"Before we speak, let us sit, for I have traveled a long ways and am weary."
He came to a table in the corner and sat down with Dekkroh.
"Two weeks ago I was sent a letter from a very old friend who lived in the north with the barbarians. He had told me that something had come out of the moutians north of Talahar and was ravaging villages and killing people. At first, Hellsein thought it was a dragon, but he learned that this thing did not kill like a dragon. No, no fire, no roaring. Secretly. He believes it to be one of the last of the old races of Draconians. But I found out quickly enough that it was not the nature of Draconians. And so I need someone to help me in this. We are to go to the village of Masheik where we will meet Hellsein and go into the caves of the moutians and investigate what it is. The money will be good. So what do you think?" -

#5He walked with him and sat down looking into the weary battle warriors eyes as he sat down.
"First off how much money will I get,and what else do you know about this creature,I usually ask only two questions before I accept. What is it and how do I kill it."
He said as he pulled up a bag holding all his assentials.
"How far is the walk..or ride."
He said as he sat straight up in the chair. -
Merc. for Hire
#6He leaned back in his chair. He thought that the mercenary would ask more questions on this job, but he mostly only cared about the money, it seemed. Oh well, help was better then no help, not matter who it came from.
"The money? Well, they were planning on paying me a small fee of about 300 coins, and I was planning on giving you half of it. About a week riding." -

#7He looked at him again his cloak tighly covering his body not showing any of his weapons. His golden eye gleamed in the little light of the candles.
"Alright you have a deal, but if you try and kill me I will show no mercy on you or the village we are to be riding to."
He said smiling a little bit as he untied the bag and pulled out a bow.As he strapped the bow around his back he didn't let his eyes leave the warrior.
"And I think you won't be that reckless I hope."
He said as he picked up the bag and walked out of the bar heading towards the stables. He looked back before he left the bar and said in a calm low vioce.
"Are you coming we do not have much time until the next attack." -
Merc. for Hire
#8He growled as his eyes slowly started to dim over with red, but he closed his eyes and shook his head roughly. Ignore the fool. He stood up slowly leaving a coin on the table and walked out to the stables where he climbed onto a large black warhorse.
"Let's go."
He kicked his heels into the horse and his horse neighed before galloping off into the gloom going north. -
Merc. for Hire
#9He followed behind cautiously for he barely knew this man he was riding with and didn't quite trust him yet for all the training he had endured had saved his life many times.
"Where did you learn how to fight?"
He asked with a quiet voice still following behind ready for anything to happen on the way there. -

#10Suddenly, a young woman on horseback caught up to them. Her hair whipped in her face, covering her eyes. The cloak she wore hid most of her body from view, but her voice gave way.
"Please help sirs. We are in desperate need of assistance. I come from the village you are heading to now. There is little time left." -
Merc. for Hire
#11He tured and saw the woman first as he said.
"Is it the village being attacked by some type of creature, because if it is we ar heading thta way right now."
He said smiling a little bit as he slowed down to meet her face with his shadowed showing his dark baby blue eye.
"Do I know you from somewhere?"
He asked meeting her pace. -
Merc. for Hire
#12"Yes, it is being attacked, but I do not know what creature it is, only that there is death everywhere."
She looked at him, trying to place his face. The wind pushed her hair away from her face, exposing silvery eyes. "Dekkrokh, it's Selise. It's been a long time old friend. I'm sorry to meet again under such circumstances." -
Merc. for Hire
#13He looked at her smiled under his mask.
"Yes it has been a long time old friend."
He said as he looked back ahead to see where they were.
"Hm..we are entering the dead wastelands."
He said as he anyone could have marked a small grimly smile over his face through the mask. -

#14Selise sighed. "This is what my homeland has become, but still, it is where I call home, I have to protect it."
Her eyes held many years worth of suffering, but she refused to allow it to get to her. If there was one thing she prided herself on it was her willingness to fight for what she believed in.
"I am sorry we had to meet again under such unfortunate circumstances, but from what I have heard, you have become quite a warrior, and if anyone can help us, it's you." She looked at him with complete trust. -
Merc. for Hire
#15He look at her and smiled as he said.
"It has been along time since we last saw each other and yes I thought that I would need the training so I joined the Blood Scorpion guild on the western continent. It is not your fault that we meet under these circumstances, but I'm glad to see you not injured or dead."
He said as he pulled his horse to a hault and stepped off near a burnt down house. He bent over and picked up some ashes as he rubbed them between two of his fingers.
"The last attack was about thirty minutes ago."
He looked back to Kassil and smiled thinking to himself.I can't wait for my payday. Then his face turned to meet Selise's face.
"Shall we caych this beast of a fiend."
He said as he took out his bow first. -

#16"I'm going to help too. You're not going to do this by yourselves."
She dismounted and drew her cloak back, revealing a sword and an assortment of throwing weapons that looked extremely deadly.
Noticing Dekkrokh's eyes, she hurried to reassure him. "Before Father died he taught me all he knew about the art of fighting. I can hold my own with the best of them. Mother taught me well too before she passed on." -
Merc. for Hire
#17He smiled as e pulled out the bag with all his assentials in it and opened it showing all types of weapons oriental throwing. He then looked at her and said.
"I'm sorry Selise but I can't let you do that it's to dangerous."
He said as he stood up and looked at her. -
Merc. for Hire
#18"everyone always tells me that I can't. Believe me, you'll be happy that I can help. I'm stronger than I look, and it's always a good thing to have a female there, distracts them for a while."
She stared at him defiantly. -
Merc. for Hire
#19Kassil smirked as he saw the women and looked around, momentarily ignoring the two of them as he rode his horse caustiously. -
Merc. for Hire
#20He looked at her and smiled under his mask.
"Fine but don't get hurt."
He then turned towards Kassil.
"Are you going to answer my question Kassil, where did you learn how to fight."
He asked as he followed on foot pulling his horse with him. -
Merc. for Hire
#21Selise looked up and noticed Kassil moving away from them. Her heart began to pound, noticing where he was walking.
"Sir, be careful there. Strange things have happened." Her eyes glazed over a moment, then returned to the color of the silvery moon. -
Merc. for Hire
#22ghed at the moment for it was deathly quiet.
"I don't think he cares."
He said as he followed bow ready. -
Merc. for Hire
#23Stepping cautiously, Selise walked away from her horse, hand on one of her weapons.
In the distance she saw what looked like smoke rising, forming a darkened cloud over the land. -
Merc. for Hire
#24He stopped his horse and glanced back at the two.
"Experience."
He looked back forward seeing the smoke he started moving his horse faster as he smiled. -
Merc. for Hire
#25He smiled as he jumped up and landed on a smoking building looking around to see if anyone was still alive as he watched over the landscape for any sudden movements.
"It's quiet.To quiet."
He whispered to himself. -
Merc. for Hire
#26Kassil came beside the house and leaned back.
"We rest here." -
Merc. for Hire
#27He looked at Kassil and smiled.
"You guys can rest here I'll scout out this deselit wasteland to see if I ca find out where the creature is hiding out."
He said as he jumped down landing on his feet quietly and stood up from his crouch.
He then turned and smiled at Selise and then said.
"I'll be right back stay here with Kassil so you don't get hurt."
Hethen walked off and started to look around to find out clues to where the beast could be hiding out. -
Merc. for Hire
#28Kassil grumbled and went into the building going through it as he went outside and started setting camp, soon he had a large fire going and he sat down beside it pulling out an old pipe he started smoking from it thinking. -
Merc. for Hire
#29Dekkrokh rounded a corner and saw the beast eating on a dead carcass of a town villager. -
Merc. for Hire
#30Kassil hummed an old song as he sat back against an old log -
Merc. for Hire
#31From behind the feasting beast, a figure emerged robed in a silvery white, a dazzling scimitar gripped tightly in his right hand, his long golden hair whipping in the wind.
He looked ready to fight, after uttering a breif prayer, his sword burst into flames and he charged into combat with the unaware monstrosity. Showing extreme finesse, he whipped around the beast, his sword striking true, but even with the blessings of his God, unable to pierce the fearsome beast's tough hide.
The beast threw him back with ease, launching him through the air and slamming him against a rockface.
Ryhiron sighed, the inaffectiveness of his actions sinking in as the beast closed in for the kill...
But just out of the corner of his eye, Ryhiron saw an armored figure within close proximity. -
Merc. for Hire
#32Dekkrokh saw the man jump out and attack this beast and then he also saw the power the beast has. He drew out his magical/cursed sword The Enlanzer and ran up ehnd the beast and stabbing it through the head going all the way through cleanly and there was absolutely no troubl pulling it out. He then looked at the man lying on the ground.
"What buisness do you have here?" -
Merc. for Hire
#33Kassil heard the noice and picked up his sword and mace and charged to see the slain beast he cursed and the beast came back to life as it jumped up roaring with life as it jumped away high into the air and into the shadows.
"Cursed be the fool who fought him. No magic can work on it. It only absorbs it!" -

#34"I came from afar, to the East. The beast is a ancient demon, left by the elder races of my land. It recently escaped its holding cell, wreaking havoc in its wake as it plundered the lands. It will not rest until it has consumed all life, it is my responsibility to stop it."
Ryhiron picked himself up, Lillafein lay beside him, its now dimmed flames still flickering in the dusk. He picked it up uttered a verse in ancient tongue and the flames dissapated instantly.
He spoke, "I am a warrior-priest, my name is Ryhiron". -
Merc. for Hire
#35He shrugged and stopped sheathing his sword and strapping his mace.
"Well met. Name's Kassil Khirshah." -
Merc. for Hire
#36He looked at them both and smirked as he did not sheath his weapon.
"Sorry to disturb you two ladies conversation but we have an angry beast on the loose for hunting."
After he said those words he ran into the shadows his eyes adjusting t the dark as he searched for this demon. -
Merc. for Hire
#37Ryhiron watched as the bold unnamed man scuttered off into the darkness. He turned to Kassil, "Quite the eager one, isn't he?". -
Merc. for Hire
#38Kassil sighed and shook his old grizzled head.
"Too eager." -
Merc. for Hire
#39Ryhiron raised his sword and uttered a verse in a sharper text, his sword Lillafein gleamed with light and dispelled the shadows before him. The mercenary had vanished, and the beast left not a trace.
Ryhiron lowered Lillafein and it slowly dimmed back into its original state. -

#40He nodded and looked at the Paladin.
"Well, let us be gone and hunt down this beast to its lair!"
He started walking in the direction the man had gone slowly, taking his time, he was not as young as he used to be and wouldn't want to be too eager and fail his heart
